I originally made a claim on a Sofa and Love seat, on a warranty serviced by Stainsafe Inc., that I purchased through Haynes furniture in Virginia Beach, Virginia. My original claim was made in the first part of January of 2004. The tech, dispatched by Stainsafe, came to the house, effected the repairs, and was on his way. About a week later, the repair he made to the sofa (seem) came loose.

So, I called Stainsafe on or about the 15th of January 2004. I have not gotten a response ever since. I have called Stainsafe on several occasions, and repeatedly made follow-up calls on the SECOND (repaired seems coming loose) claim, and have not been given the decency of a response. I have talked to a gentleman by the name of Alfredo at Stainsafe, who assured me that he would return my call, of course he never did (this particular call was call number 14 or 15, I lost count). At one point, I was given the number of the repairman, but he too ignored my repeated calls and messages. I strongly suggest that you (Stainsafe Inc.) screen repairman a little thoroughly in customer service procedures and professionalism and if they fail to meet professional guidelines, FIRE THEM. (A formal complaint has been submitted to The Florida State Attorney Generals Office)

stainsafe is the culpirt not the service contractors

AUTHOR: Sharon - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 27, 2004

I just want everyone out there to know that yes you are very justified about your stainsafe complaints. But the more complaints that I read I see negative comments on the service contractors. Let me tell you why service companies sent by Stainsafe do not return your calls. Stainsafe does not pay their bills to these contractors in a timely fashion.

They also promise their contractors that they will pay their invoices and its nothing but broken promises...or they send a small stipend that does not begin to cover the amount of dollars owed. The next step is that the contractors quit doing Stainsafes work or put their account on hold until payment is recieved.

Then the consumer sufferer, which I agree is very unfair to the consummer ...but the service tech cannot work for free. Most service techs are small businesses that cannot afford to hold a major corp like Stainsafe up. I recommend to my stainsafe customers when they call me that since I am not servicing Stainsafes acct at this time that they call Stainsafe and see if they have someone else they can send out ( maybe they will get lucky and hit on one thats been paid !)

Also another thing I read is that the service te chs submit false reports...that is not true they say what they see , its Stainsafes warped policy that turns these reports inside out so that they do not have to honor the claim.

furniture stores that fail to check on their warranty products sold

AUTHOR: Albert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, February 12, 2004

Update 1 - The Better Business Bureau has a file on these clowns (Stainsafe Inc). I should have checked before I purchased the plan, but I assumed that the "reputable" furniture store (Haynes Furniture, Virginia Beach, Virginia) did their homework. I have since submitted complaints to the BBB, Florida Attorney Generals Office, as well as the Virginia State Attorney Generals Office.

Update 2 - To all consumers having problems with Stainsafe, a product sold by Haynes furniture in Virginia Beach Virginia, and other furniture stores that fail to check on their warranty products sold. Please contact the Florida (for ALL Stainsafe customers, regardless of state, since this is Stainsafes head office) and Virginia State Attorneys General (Virginia residents only) and the local Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the attorney generals office of the state in which you reside, to submit complaints about Stainsafe Inc., For Virginia state residents, go to the following web sites and follow the instructions on how to submit a complaint, I supplied the company address for your convenience;

http://www.oag.state.va.us/ (press "Consumer assistance")

giving me the royal runaround

AUTHOR: Albert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, February 12, 2004

The original store that I purchased the Stainsafe warranty from, is also giving me the royal runaround. I will be submitting a complaint to the State of Virginia Attorney Generals Office. These folks should not be able to profit, or pretend to be concerned with customer service, by selling such a crappy warranty service.
