Stanley Steemer offers a special if you book online ($10 off). There are two ways of booking online (which I realized afterwards). There is the normal process where you click on "pricing and scheduling" which is where most people would go. But there is another section under "Special" and only if you book under this section do you get the discount...what a scam! You can hardly see the link. I could have booked my appointment over the phone but I decided to do it online to get the discount.

I call your 800 number and spoke to a representative who was very rude telling me that because I didn't click the "Special" button I can't get the discount. She got loud with me even though I am the customer and was talking to her in a very polite way.

Not only did I give these gues over $300 in business I bought additional trademark cleaners.

When I was looking at quotes we got an estimate from Sears along with a few other places . All the pricing was comparable but we went with Stanley only because of the discount but also because of your reputation.

It is only $10 we lost but it is the whole principal of the matter that irritates me. Booking online is and should be all the same!

I would not recommend this company as it is dishonest to trick a consumer

same poor response to complaint

I have a similar response from COIT after having a problem. In my case the seervice tech marked all of my newly painted base boards. A complaint all the way up to the regional manager resulted in nothing but a discount off future service and then she subsequently rejected my email as junk blocking further communication.

The carpet cleaners are a flakey bunch. You may get a good guy but often get a bum.There aren't alot of highly motivated carpet cleaners showing up at your door...

Any negotiations and adjustments must be made before payment. IF you missed a discount though it is like a coupon you forgot to bring to the store. Use it next time...

Your best bet is to buy a carpet cleaner of your own. That's what I did and I have cleaned my carpets dozens of times and never called a commercial company again. I highly recommend this solution since you can get better cleaning when and where you want it and at no additional cost. The machines are as easy to use a vacuum cleaners. It's really a no brainer!

I am writing in response to Saadia's complaint. Prior to September 15, 2008, on the Stanley Steemer website, customers had the ability to click on the Specials tab on the main page and view our current specials. Stanley Steemer has since unveiled a new and expanded website. The current special at the time was $10 off cleaning when you schedule online. On the special offer, it read in bold lettering, CLICK HERE TO SCHEDULE USING THIS SPECIAL. After scheduling an appointment, the customer has the ability to print a confirmation page and the customer also receives an email reviewing the order. If there are any errors or omissions in the order, the customer can either contact our office or rebook the order. Saadia M. did neither.

On September 2, 2008, we performed the cleaning service for Saadia. Saadia contacted our office after the crew completed her cleaning, she signed the invoice and completed payment, and the crew had left her home. She inquired about the $10 discount. Our office manager, in a polite manner, told Saadia that she had not scheduled the appointment under the $10 special offer and that was why it was not on her invoice. Furthermore, at that time, the crew had already left. Therefore, we had no way of correcting the problem on her invoice for her. Instead, Stanley Steemer did mail her a $25 discount card on a future service to rectify the issue. That was not mentioned in her complaint.

Stanley Steemer takes its reputation and superior cleaning service very seriously. We are an IICRC certified firm. We have over 20 certified cleaners on staff, including one IICRC Master Textile Cleanerthe highest level of cleaning certification in the industry. We are also the only Stone, Masonry, Tile Cleaning certified firm in the entire state of New Jersey. We also recommended by the Carpet and Rug Institute, Shaw Industries, and Good Housekeeping to name a few. We have been a part of this community for over 14 years. Chances are if you have used our services in the past, you will see the same technicians again and again at you home. We don't hire temporary workers with no experience. We employ technicians who make a career of cleaning carpeting. Stanley Steemer does all of this to make your cleaning experience as positive and comfortable as possible.
