Took my new car in to have a tire replaced. Should have been a simple procedure. As soon as I left I noticed that the alignment was way off. Called STS Tire immediately and was told "it was nothing we did, take it to the dealer." I told them the car was in alignment when brought in and not when I left so obviously it was something. Manager was extremely rude and obnoxious and so was the district manager. Took the car to the dealer and they told me STS had bent my axle when placing the new tire. The STS manager even visited the dealer to confirm the damage. Since then I cannot get anyone to return a call or e-mail.
So, my $200 tire cost another $450 in damage and my car was in the dealership for 3 days getting repaired.

How does someone bend an axle while installing a tire? Must have been quite an effort. I have experienced dealers bad mouthing other shops with no justification in the past. could this possibly be the case?
