I recently ordered a "free" eBay business package to help start a business with eBay. I had to pay for shipping, like $3 or $4, which was ok with me. Next thing I know, I've got some free trial with "The Sellers Lounge" and some "Magellan E-Commerce" website from Submit Solution (which, of course, I never used). I had received a confirmation email for both of these services stating that I had a 10 day trial. What both of these emails failed to point out was that after the 10 day trial, you would be charged a ton of money to use the service. Well, all I wanted was this eBay package, so I forgot about the 2 trial services. Next thing I know, I have two transactions pending in my paypal account...one for "The Sellers Lounge" of $49.95 and one for "Magellan E-Commerce" for $39.95

I immediately googled each of these services because of course they do not make it easy by just giving the customer support phone number in the emails they had previously sent me. First I called Submit Solution. I talked to some cocky punk who I wish would have been standing face to face with me. I requested a refund. He refused and told me that since it was a "free trial", they do not refund money if I do not cancel before the trial period is over. After about 10 minutes of arguing, he would still not refund my money.

Next, I called "The Sellers Lounge" (not affiliated w/ Submit Solution apparently) and they were very polite and had no problem with refunding my money ($49.95).

So I guess the bottom line is: Watch out when you order your "free" eBay starter pack (whatever the hell the name is), they are only out to scam you for your money (like 99% of people in this world). Make sure you cancel your "free" trial before ten days if you do not want it, otherwise this poor excuse of a company (Submit Solution) will rob you of your money.

Explanation or not, this is a scam that is well disguised in other free trial offers!

AUTHOR: Vicki - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, May 11, 2009

This company can try to explain away all of its misdoings. The simple fact is that the people who accidentally signed up for this free trial offer with Submit Solutions, had no idea that they had actaully signed up for it. If, and I stress IF, there was a banner ad with a button to click on to opt out or continue, it was disguised in such a way that the consumer thought that they were continuing with the offer that they originally were signing up for such as "The Sellers Lounge" or an "eBay start up package". I signed up for a trial offer with the Seller's Lounge. Nowhere did I ever see the words Trial Offer with Submit Solution. If those words were there, they were too small to notice. Anything that I clicked on, I believed was part of the process to signing up for the Sellers Lounge free trial offer which I canceled because it wasn't anything that I would ultimately need or use. If I had knowingly signed up for a free trial offer for Submit Solution, I would have made sure that I canceled it before the trial period was over. I didn't even know the company existed until they billed my credit card for $39.95.

I had to cancel my credit card because of the charge that I didn't knowingly authorize. Submit Solution says that they don't have to refund my money and they won't. I have put the charge into dispute with my credit card company because I have no knowledge of ever signing up for this service (which I have no idea what there service even is for sure!) They say that they spent hours building me my own website which I have never been told how to access it or what it's called or anything, but they built it just for me.

It's funny that I never got any email confirming that I signed up for this service, that my credit card was going to be charged, or that my so called website was completed and how to access it. This is a very sneeky scam to get money from people without actually performing any kind of service. I hope that charges are filed against this company and they are shut down so that no other innocent people find themselves where I am today. Forty dollars may not sound like much to many people, but it's the grocery money for me and my daughter!

By the way, I was told by an employee and by their manager (neither gave their name) that they couldn't refund my money because I put the charge into dispute and by law they now cannot refund my money. I called my credit card company and they stated that they know of no such law and that the company can very well issue a refund at any time and the dispute will be settled. This company simply doesn't know how to tell the truth. BEWARE!!!!

Magellan Commerce Free Trail

AUTHOR: Spencer@eharbor - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 21, 2008

As the Public Relations Manager for Magellan Commerce and E-Harbor Inc I want to take the opportunity to give you all a little more information on what takes place with our online trial offer and respond to the complaint that was filed.

Magellan Commerce is partnered with seller's lounge. When a client signs up for seller's lounge e-bay training DVD, before they finish registering for their DVD, they are presented with our offer for a 14 day free trial of our Magellan e-commerce website (valued at $19.99). All terms and conditions are clearly stated on the opt-in page. The client then has the option of clicking "yes, continue" or "no thanks" to accept or decline the offer. They are then emailed a confirmation of their new order with their new Magellan commerce website information. The client can then use the website free of charge for 14 days, after which they will be charged $39.95 a month thereafter to continue using the site. These terms are clearly stated on the opt-in page. If the client contacts our support department within the 14 day free trial to cancel their account, their account is closed without charge.

If you, like Justin, Sign up for our free trial, please make sure you cancel your membership before your trial expires to avoid being charged. Not canceling the service is an indication of an extended contract for the regular price of $39.99 a month. Justin gave us permission to charge his account; unfortunately for him, he forgot about his commitment and then wanted a refund for his mistake.

We will be more than happy accept all responsibility for any mistakes we make and are very willing to refund anyone for any legitimate reason. At Magellan Commerce we pride ourselves in our ability to consistently provide elite customer service and satisfaction to our clients. It is unfortunate Justin felt he was poorly treated; however, I am confident we provide the most respectful and friendly customer service in the industry.

I am happy to answer any questions that anyone may have in regards to this complaint or of any other relation.
