Ireland calling.

I have just received an unsolicited phone call telling me I have won a free Carribbean cruise! I was then connected to a rep from this company to explain all the details of how I "collect"!

To my surprise, she did... very clearly stating that this was a time-share tactic to gain customers.

I am to receive a 13 day all expenses paid (except flights from Ireland to Florida) holiday plus the three day cruise to Nassau. This, for 4 people will only cost me 898, (about US$1200).

She also gave me the website to appraise the facilities, (which is how I discovered Rip-Off Report), and put me under no pressure to pay immediately.

When I told her I would examine what was on offer in more detail and discuss it with my wife, she was happy just to confirm that I had the correct phone no. to call them or e-mail when I am ready to accept their offer!

So what I need to know is, should I take up the offer? I have read most of the reports on Ramada (it is obviously the same company under another name), but most of the complaints concern cancellations and refunds. As I will be able to travel after the 45 days notice they require within one year of receiving the offer, AND I know that a time-share presentation is part of it (no intention of buying!!!), where can I go wrong?

Please help!

Don't expect too much

I've just filed a report about sunshine travel escapes because they wont give me my refund.
However I just wanted to tell Barry that I actually did go to Florida in 1998 with a similiar company through the same process. Got a phone call telling me of a great Holiday package and I had to secure it there and then, which I did.
When I did go I didn't enjoy the Holiday very much, because these company are mostly Time Share companies so their main objective is to sell you time share.
One thing you've got to take into consideration is that alot of the taxes are not included with the holiday packages so you will feel alittle stung each time! However the holiday itself wasnt too bad, we even went on a cruise to the Nassau island, (the tax was quite alot if I could remember which we had to pay when we got off)now that was a surprise.
I would have considered taking the holiday with Sunshine travel escapes but because they were already dishonest from the beginning I didnt feel it is a company I'd like to deal with. I filed a report with some fraud investigation bureau in America who informed me that this company has a very bad reputation and have received numerous complaints about them. Stay away!
