I am so pissed off that I don't know what to do... other than tell as many people as I can about my horrible experience.

I have been looking for a car. I put some applications in on-line. I got calls back from several dealers. I talked to a lot of them but they wouldn't approve me because my income is too low... under $1500.00 a month. That was frustrating, but at least I didn't waste my time and money to get to them. I live in Clarksville but I work in Nashville. All of the dealerships that called me were in Nashville. I wasn't willing to come all the way from Clarksville... or even take the time off from work... to go to a car lot if they knew from the start that they wouldn't be able to finance me. That's too much of an investment for me.

Christina from Suzuki of Nashville called me and told me that I was "pre-approved" for $0 down, $99 a month. So, I had been talking to for a couple of weeks. I had an appointment set up for this coming Saturday (Feb. 17) to meet with her and look at cars. Tuesday when I talked to my sister, she told me she couldn't bring me up here because she had forgotten about it. She made other plans. I had to get to work yesterday and today so I rented a car. Wednesday morning, when I knew I was going to rent a car, I called Suzuki of Nashville and asked to move my appointment to Thursday. At the time, I didn't have any information in front of me, so I couldn't remember the name (Christina) of the salesperson that I was talking to. So I talked to another Salesperson... Amanda. I told her that I had an appointment set up for Saturday and that I needed to change it. She said o.k. I then went on to tell her about my reservations. I said "I have been talking to other car lots and they won't work with me because I don't make $1500 a month. I don't have anyone that can co-sign for me. Am I going to be wasting my time coming out there? I don't want to take the time to come out there if I won't be able to get a car because of my income." She answered "Well, how much do you make?" I told her. She said "Oh, that should be fine! We work with everyone. All you have to have is a $1200 a month income on paper and we'll be able to work with you. Our lenders are different from everyone else's. We will get you into a car." So, I really thought she was being truthful.

After work yesterday (Thursday) I took a friend of mine to pick up her car from the shop. She then led me out to Suzuki of Nashville and went in with me. We stood there for a couple of minutes and then a guy came over and asked us who we needed. I told him Christina. He said ok. He pops his head into an office an then tells us that she will be with us in a few moments. So we sat down. About 5 minutes later, a lady comes over and says "Were you looking for Christina?" I told her yes and gave her my name. She said o.k. She popped her head into the same office and then told me that Christina had another customer and that she would get someone else for me to work with. I was late, so I didn't expect Christina to just drop what she was doing to see me, but she could have at least popped her head out to tell me herself that she wouldn't be able to get to me at the moment. That was irritating. So anyway, the other lady comes back with a guy. I don't remember his name. I was too busy trying to calm my temper to hear him when he said it. We went in the back and the first thing he does is pull out a credit application. That stunned me because I thought you were supposed to have an idea of what you wanted to buy first. I told him that they should already have an application because I had to do it online. He gave me some bull about not being able to print it off or whatever. I gave him the information... reluctantly. He disappears and then comes back and says "Well we got an approval, but you have to show an income of $2500 a month." I was like "What?! I talked to someone yesterday and she said I only had to show $1200 a month." He said "Well, do you have any more income?" I told him "No. That's what I make." I then told him that I had been talking to other dealers and they only required $1500 a month. He told me to hold on and let him try something else. I said O.K. Then he went in the back for a few more minutes and came back. He then said they could work with me if I had $2000 a month. I said ... "So what you're telling me is that you wasted my time!" He then proceeded to ask me if I had a co-signer. I told him "No" and that I had told Amanda that already. He had an Oh Well attitude. I then told him that they had wasted my time. That I live in Clarksville and that if they had told me from the beginning that I had to have that high of an income then I wouldn't have wasted my time. He said... "Well, I can call them tomorrow and see if I can get that waived." I said "No. I can't get here tomorrow. I have a rental car and I have to have it back by 5:00p.m. so I won't have time to come here first." That was the last bit of conversation with him. Barbara and I left. It's a good thing that my sister couldn't bring me Saturday and I changed my appointment to Thursday. Otherwise, it would have been a wasted trip from Clarksville all the way to South Nashville. I was so pissed off that I called back about 5 minutes later to talk to a manager. His name was J.D. I told him what happened. He said "Let me see what I can do. I will call you back in about three minutes." He never called back. I'm so angry I don't know what to do. Hmmm... I wonder if the Nashville newspaper has a section for letters to the editor.

They fooled me in to wasting my time with them. Just beware if you get a call from them.
