I purchased an engine for my 1996 Mercedes Benz e320 from SWENGINES who promised to send me an engine that was quoted as

•This engine comes COMPLETE less alternator, starter, power steering pump, AC compressor and turbo (if applicable). This engine has been checked for sludge build up.

After the engine was delivered, I requested another quote

I received the same quote every time I made a request   73,000 miles

They give the same information for every MB engine no matter how many times you request a quote.

Automatically sent regardless of what engine you order.

My MB mechanic wrote this letter to me

The engine received from SW engines was installed and when we started the engine, it was burning coolant.  We performed a leak down and compression check and found that the head gasket was leaking.

The engine was unusable and not what we thought we were purchasing.

The engine was supposed to be compression tested, cylinder leak down tested, checked for oil pressure and steam cleaned complete less alternator, starter, power steering pump, AC compressor and turbo (if applicable). This engine has been checked for sludge build up.

We also discovered it was not a 1966 MB e320 210 engine.

I paid $1725.00 to have the engine installed.

I paid $1300.00 for the SW engine

Total $3025.00

This should have been the total expenditure,

How ever

I then had to buy another engine and installation

For $2970.00

Total $5994.00

SW Refunded $1300.00 for the bad engine

Total expenditures $4694.00

I should have only paid $2970 for the entire engine replacement

I ended up paying $4694.00

I paid $1724.00 more than I should have.
