I read the complaints about Swift on your website, and decided to give them the benefit of doubt.I enrolled in their "cdl training school" in San Antonio,tx.
What I discovered,is,most of the complaints about "Swift ripping you off",are,in fact, true! The school bills you for 210 hrs of "training". My group only received 175 hrs. The first week of school was mangled by a fellow who claimed he spoke 7 langauges! Only trouble was english wasn't one of them.
I took all their tests, received my cdl,got "assigned" to a driver/trainer out of laredo,tx[closest terminal to me]. I contacted him, set up a time to meet, but missed him. He called later, said he would get me next day, on the way back to Laredo.
The next day however, same thing happened again [his fault!] I called him, he informed me that he decided to quit Swift and go elsewhere and to call Swift to get re-assigned. The next "driver/trainer", was out of Mexico, could barely speak english, and smoked like a chimney. The library is closing, so I can't finish this.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Did You Tell Swift?
AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

George:
You're new to the business and that's great. Our profession needs more safe, professionally looking and acting people. I hope you are one who will improve the image of our profession and not one of the many super truckers, cowboys and "special breed of man" types. What you will hear or read is often typical truck driver garbage from sorry complainers and those who have less business knowledge than your ball point pen! Swift should be made known of your experience. Call them today! Request a trainer who is a non smoker and has a comand of the English language.
You are now a trainee and there's nothing wrong with that. Even Mr. Cowboy who spends his time tailgating and throwing bottles of urine out of the window was once a trainee. The hope is that your training will be of great value to you and that you will always be teachable. Forget about the truck driver rumors, turn off the CB and concentrate on being the safest driver on the road.
