So this Takhar group keeps calling my cell phone night and day leaving me messages and all they say is that i must call them "right away regarding this matter" and to go to their web site. I went and it said it was a site for a collection agency.
There are two options on the site to see the debt you apparently owe. Either type in your account number or your phone number and zip code. I did option two because i dont have an account number because i have never received anything in writing saying i owe this company any money and i was curious to see what i would find.
So of course when i punched in my information the result came back as no record found under the information i gave them.
I have received nothing in writing from this company nor do they have any record of this apparent debt on their apparent website. This place is a scam.
If you get someone calling you from this company who speaks in an Indian accent, hang up and dont give them any information.

They are a rip-off

This group has called me no less than once every 10 days from either their Corporate office in Canada, or their US branch in the NW part of New York State, near Niagara Falls, NY.
Their one phone number is: 800-620-0371
They plan it to automatically call you no less than 5 minutes before their office closes (9pm Eastern time), making it useless for you to call them at the time they demand.
According to sources, they are a sole collection agency for "Columbia House, Inc".
Their practices are known to be well-known for abusive tactics...and there have been numerous complaints lodged against them in quite a few states, especially states they are NOT licensed to operate.
I live in Texas, and have checked their website to see if I have any dealings with them in even the remotest. After input of certain info...phone # and zip code...the results are that they have NO record of me whatsoever.
