I kept on getting teaser emails from talent hunter.com saying I was wanted for extra parts and so on and so forth. So I decided I would take a very small risk and invest 1.99 for a week just to see what the service was like. I later did find out that it does say in small print I will be charged 19.99. However, I did not see that and thought I would be given the freedom to cancel. So I was very suprised when I recieved a 19.99 charge on my credit card. I was very displeased, but I thought by at least having that charge, I would be able to use their services. They said my card was declined, yet they DID charge my card. I emailed them at their support line and then at their cancellation line to which they replied we are sorry to see you go and we want to offer you a six month membership free. they give you a email to email them back for that and that comes back to me. Its non existant so I go back and re-email them and then it asks me to look at their terms of use which say in little black letters that they never issue refunds regardless of situation. SO I am basically screwed out of the money and still am unable to use their service

#3 Consumer Comment

Nothing but problems

I joined talenhunter and even after I canceled my membership (following their procedures) I was still billed. I was finally given a refund on 4/21 and an email stating that they had ensured to cancel my account. But, they went right around and billed me again the same day for $39.99. I found this out when I went to review my bank account and find out why I had an overdraft fee. So they have cost me another $39.99 plus a $33 overdraft fee from their unauthorized transaction. I am a struggling actor and do not have a lot of money every month. It is a good thing I keep all my emails from companies like this. I have emailed them about this current issue and am awaiting a response. (by chance to way to call them)
Next is legal action.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Kelly, I can see your frustration, but you have to look at your part.

I am a consumer, and I have had a good experience with this company, and was able to land some good contacts from their service.

Kelly, From reading your complaint, you said that you did not read the fine print. When i signed up for their service there was a link that had an explaination to their terms of an agreement of what service they provide, and how to go about canceling and so fourth. further more, the $1.99 trial is for 3 days not a whole week. it goes on to say that after the 3 days you will be billed for the month.

It is not the company's responsibility to make sure you actually read all the terms and agreed with them before you checked the box that says you did so.

Kelly in the future, be aware, and read the fine print. I mean what are you going to do if this happens to you on an acting job?

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Talenthunter provides quality services and is no way a ripoff as this consumer stated

When a member upgrades it is clearly stated that this a subscription and will be charged periodically based on the package chosen. It is in bold print so members clearly understand the terms of their subscription. Also members can cancel anytime electronically on our site at anytime. If this user was unable to use our services we would be happy to rectify this misunderstanding, as our goal is to provide the best service possible to our members. We have an auto response system to simplify our customer service so we can offer our members a lower price for the services they are using. If this complaint is valid, we would be happy to issue this user a refund and also offer this member a 1 year free subscription free of charge if indeed they were not able to use our service. This member needs to provide their user id or user name so we can investigate this complaint further.
