I purchased two items in Target and few days later for some reason I tried to return one of them.When original receipt and item were scaned,and NOT matched I realised that I have been charged for something different. The possibility of mistake with receipts from my side can be exclude since I shopped in Target first (and last) time. I proposed to reviewed the cameras record but I was treated like a swindler, item was confiscate unrefunded!
Customer service reffers from one to another without any attempt to resolve my problem...I feel embarrassed and humiliated...

Is any way I can prove my truth.???

I guessing that if the two items were similar the cashier may have scanned the first item twice by mistake instead of 1, then 2. It happens by accident sometimes.

There really isn't a way to fix it if not spotted right away. I don't know if Target is still doind it, be on Leave of Absence, for college, but they usually, or at least use to, give you two returns without recipts if you provide a valid state drivers lincease/ID. They may have gotten rid of this by now, it's worth a check.

If you explain the situation nicely, and ask the guest service idividual to see if the "GSTL"

If it has been less than 30 days, go to the store and ask for AP. This is Target's security. When they come to talk to you, explain to them exactly what happened. I know nothing about you or the employees of the store you went to, but depending on the languages, they may have a difficult time understanding you, and vice versa, so be patient (this happens a lot where I live). Anyway, have them research the transaction. The camera coverage expires at 30 days, so you need to do it ASAP. They should also be able to review video of the service desk and figure out what happened to the item you didn't get reimbursed for. If that doesn't solve it, ask for the store manager. Sometimes, depending on the price, the manager will allow them to do a return in that case because its not worth losing your future sales over a $20 shirt. But not all managers will do it. AP is your best bet however, because if they use the same system I do, and it hasn't expired, they will be able to see exactly what the cashier inputs into the computer as it happens on video. Good luck.

Thank you for your comments,
and you can share my reply to both of you..!
Probably I did not discribe my problem clear enough, well let me try again.

Mr.Robert, you believe or not, but I really shopped in Target first time in my life.
In NYC a lots of other alternatives to shop and I do not know why it sounds strange to you...

First of all, regarding the reason I desided to retern one of the item; return and exchange policy does NOT requier any explanation, as long as item is unused, with original receipt, tag on it, and present within valid dates.!! But let me satisfy your curiosity; when I was buying that items I did not have much time to stay in the line to fitting room ..., so I had tried it when I came home and I did NOT like the way it looked on me... that's the simple reason, and please, do not tell me it never happened to you and you have never had returned anything.!!!

I bought two different item, #1 and #2. I have been charged TWICE for #1, instead being charged once for #1 and once for #2...

#1 - charged twice
#2 - not charged

So, when I tried to retur #2, it did not appear on the receipt (because they have different sale code), and I was treated (let me repeat myself) like a swindler, who was trying to return something stollen.!
I explained, but nobody listen to me.! They did not gave me #2 back and they did not refund it either.! "Manager" who was unprofessional and very rude did not even make any attempt to help me, she jast gave me 1-800-number and "nice" hint to get a F.. out from there.!


Do you really think I would abase myself just for a couple dollars $$
(Im wealthy enough). It was not about money from the beginning. It's metter of my principle feelings which are not convertible to money.!

P.S. to Mr.Robert ; I'm very truthful, and I was going to keep proving my truth, but in order to avoid parking ticket,I went down to drop couple quarters to the meter. When I came back I understud it was useless.


P.S. to Mr."I Am The Law"; It's very praiseworthy to recognize my gramma and spelling mistakes. To take into account that Im foreign, very recent resident of U.S and English is not my native language, I can apply for some excuse.

I agree. This story sounds a bit weird. (Returning something "for some reason"?)

Despite the horrible spelling and grammar, this story paints the picture of someone trying to pull something. It's physically impossible for the receipt to be different than the bar code scanned.

Also, if it is true that this was your first time in Target; reviewing every single recording of every single day since the store opened would be dumb because you didn't have to be the person that actually purchased the item.

Get a better story....as this one has some holes.

- For SOME reason you returned them? You mean you just woke up one day and said to yourself "I think I will return one thing I bought just for the heck of it."

Then this just happened to be your very first time shopping at Target? Possible but doubtful.

What were you trying to return and what was the reason they said they were not returning the item to you or refunding your money? Because just having the wrong receipt is not going to be a reason they do this.

Also, if you are being truthful, why did you not stay in the store until you got either the item back or the refund?
