My situation is similar to others. I purchased a Samsung Monitor at a CompUSA in Honolulu and completed the necessary paperwork to receive my promised $50 rebate.

An email confirmed the rebate and gave me a tracking number:

Offer# 21504 SAMSUNG 712N MONITOR REBATE
Rebate ID: 16010188
$50 payable to CHRIS C.

I receive an email on January 11, 2005 saying the check were sent on January 8 and to expect it in 10 days. I never received the check, so I went to their on-line rebate tracking site and found my order.

The Rebate on-line page stated that my rebate was mailed to my on Jan 8, 2005.

I tried calling the number and was put on hold. Ten minutes later I was still on hold. I hung up and tried repeatedly to reach them by phone but only received a busy signal.

TCA Fulfillment Services makes it nearly impossible to get in contact with their customer service department, as they do not provide an email address (what company that has a website doesn't have an email address in this day and age?) but only a non-1-800 number, which means the consumer pays for the long-distance call.

TCA Fulfillment services do not fulfill, trying to get the $50 rebate that was promised to me

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 24, 2005

Since January 2005, when TCA Fulfillment Services informed me by email that a $50 rebate check had been mailed to me, but was never received, I have been trying to find out why I didn't receive the check. TCA Fulfillment Services do not answer phone calls, but leave the caller on hold and then disconnect after 10-15 minutes of waiting. So I went to the BBB of New York, which is the region where TCA is located, and they tried to find out what had happened for me, and were told that a check had been mailed in January 2005 but was never cashed and that a replacement check would be sent. That was never received, so I contacted by email the Comp USA customer service, as I had purchased a Samsung Monitor at the Honolulu Comp USA store in October 2004 with the rebate offer. The Comp USA customer service responded to tell me that in March 2005 I should receive a replacement check from TCA. March came and went and nothing was received, nor in April. I emailed the Comp USA customer service and told them that I hadn't received a replacement check as promised in March. They responded with an email telling me to call a toll free number for TCA. I did and was put on hold. I waited 12 minutes and no one answered, but a ad came coming on telling me to go to the Wheres my Rebate web site to check on the status of my rebate. I did and the web site still listed that a rebate check had been mailed to me in January 2005.

It is now the end of May, and I still am trying to get the $50 rebate that was promised to me when I purchased the Samsung Monitor in October 2004.

What's the next step?

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Persistence is key

AUTHOR: Brenda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 23, 2005

I was reading your report after updating mine and noticed a lot of similarities in our reports. First of all, we both made purchases at the Honolulu CompUSA and both were notified that our checks were mailed Jan. 8.

If I feel I've been wronged I don't ever back down. I went to their website which was listed on this site (you gotta love what people cab find). Anyway, www.tcarebates.com (their homepage claims "Rebates processed quickly and correctly" - what bull) lists three email addresses that I emailed simultaneously: customerservice@tcarebates.com, sales@tcarebates.com and marketing@tcarebates.com. By emailing all three, you can assume that there are at least three people reading and they hopefully will forward to the right person. I included in the email the rebate tracking numbers and what it was for. I said I would mail the copies of the rebate forms and UPC symbols as proof. I even went as far as quoting the Better Business Bureau and including what types of laws they were breaking. Be sure to be no-nonsense and tough in the email.

My closing paragraph was, "I am expecting acknowledgment in some form to this email. If I do not receive any personlized response within 5 business days, I will be forced to seek alternate options to have this issue resolved." This usually works becuase they know they are in the wrong and the last thing they need is a bunch of lawyers and lawsuits hampering their business.

I got my checks about a week after I sent that email. I never got any type of response to the email. It could be mere coincidence, but I think someone realized they better send the checks or risk getting into trouble. If you prefer to talk to someone (it's always better to write a letter or email because you have documentation) they have an toll-free #: 1-800-390-2344. Good luck.
