We contracted Teamusa for two moves. We provided them with a detailed list (including dimensions) of furnishings. They gave us a quote. We supplied them with two deposits. That was the last actual thing they did to service our business.

They subcontracted with Advance Budget Moving & Storage, Decatur Georgia, which actually appeared on my credit card as SAFEWAY VAN LINES. The movers got lost coming to my home in California which as located on a busy street which was a main artery between two major freeways. They faxed me a weigh bill for the truck they picked up the furniture in. I requested to follow them to the weigh station, they said they didn't know where the nearest one was located. They also said once they got the weigh bill they would fax it to us. That never happened. I called Team USA and repeated asked about it to no avail.

When I arrived in Florida, I called Teamusa to verify the drop off date. They were of no assistance. I called several times and finally they gave me a direct line to the actual moving company. I called and got a secretary twice and asked for my furniture. She did not know anything. When I finally got hold of her boss, he said you could have had your furniture at any time it has been sitting here. However, another five days of phone calls passed before I saw my furntiture. It was always on it's way.

In every call I mentioned the way bill. I was told the load was 2000 lbs overweight. I said I find that hard to believe. They said they would reweigh it. In the next call he said I was 4400 lbs overweight. When they arrived the truck was a differant truck to the druck who had picked up the furniture (which made the first weigh bill useless). In addition, the weigh bill had nothing on it that identified my load, name number ..ect. And the weigh bill was from a location in Carolina, not FLorida were I moved to..or even Georgia where the company was located. I asked to go to a weigh station and my furniture was just held hostage. I paid by credit card company and am fighting via the credit card company for my money back.

Once they unloaded the furniture, I discovered serious demage..i.e. holes in wrought iron chairs, file draws hanging at 45% angles. I documented the damage and filed a claim on the Team USA website. I have had no response. I have asked about it and they say that they are waiting for a response from the other company. Basically, nothing is happening and again no one cares.

Stop the insanity, Team USA Moving is the worst!!!!

AUTHOR: Fritz - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 19, 2004

I have been going through hell on earth with this company!!
I contacted Team USA Moving through a web site. I was contacted by a sales rep named Aaron Humma, he was very pleasent on the phone but seemed a little slow, but knowledgeable. He gave me a price right over the phone, which seemed a little strange(without seeing any of my stuff). I shopped around a little bit more from some other internet companies, and deceided to go with Team USA. I proceeded to call Aaron back and make a reservation with them.(First Mistake) I received some faxed documents from the reservation, signed a couple of places and faxed them back. A few days later I called back, just trying to find out what date and time I should expect the truck ( I like to refer to this as the RUN AROUND TIME). I was on the phone for a week with these people. By this time I was already 3 days away from the first pickup date. By this point I could not even cancel because I would not be able to get a full refund. Everytime I would call Aaron, either he would laugh at me and transfer the call or just hang up.
After that whole mess, I charged back my credit card, notified them of my intent of cancelling and proceeded to do it myself. I have called all of the proper authorities (DOT,FBI,IRS, State Attorney Generals Office in Florida). These people should not allowed to be in business anymore. I will tell everyone that I know about this scam company.

Team USA Moving internal strife...

AUTHOR: Frank - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, August 15, 2004

Team USA Moving appears to be having some internal problems. Their web designer has hacked their own website, presumably over being fired. He also claims their company is losing its license.

www.teamusamoving.com

The person pictured in the bar (over which is TUM's office)is Stephen Smith, the owner, who works under the name of Chad Smith. As Chad, Stephen has waged a war of harrassment on their victims, sending faxes threatening lawsuits if complaints aren't retracted, and other things (read other RipOff Reports for more info)

Team USA Moving, more often than not, willl take deposits, promising to send movers, but noone is ever contracted. This is was beyond the typical moving scam, and is outright fraud. The Florida Attorney General knows about them, and is almost certainly investigating them at this point.

As suggested before, anyone having been swindled by Team USA Moving should contact this department:

FL Attorney General, Economic Crimes Division

This could change like so many other investigations, but for now... at least they are investigating.
