On October 21, 2009, at 11:23 am, I called Chris at the UPS Store in Perrysburg, Ohio in order to have our mail forwarded to us at our new address.

On October 22, 2009, she charged our Visa card $13.24 for mailing services.

As of today October 28, 2009 she still has not forwarded our mail.  Nor did we get an offer of a refund to our account.

After numerous calls to the Tudor family's store went unanswered,  I was forced to call the Perrysburg police department for assistance.  An officer went to the store and was told by 'Chris' that she has notified the Postal Inspector regarding the "lost mail".

I have good reason to believe that the mail was never sent, and that these people have pocketed the money.

I had the misfortune of obtaining another UPS Store mailbox at another location in Ohio.  The s**t that owned this store took our money even though she was about to go out of business.  I contacted her landlord after finding the store locked and closed up.  He told me that she hadn't paid any rent in four months.

UPS refuses to do anything about the garbage that runs these stores even though their corporate name is on the business.

We now have to deal with the additional expense of hiring a private detective in order to find out what happened to our mail and a small  claims lawsuit.

Please take my advise and use another mail box rental service if you need one.  They come in handy while trying to relocate to another city.  Please check your yellow pages for other mail box rental services.

Mrs. Catania should consider herself lucky that we have not saught slander charges against her. Now that we found this on Rip-Off Report, the operators of this website should be concerned about slander also.  The matter was quickly resolved with the local post master.  No one wanted her mail!!

Confused? Don't be.

The UPS Store locations offer mail boxes with genuine suite numbers. Customers are leasing a business location. At the post office, you can only receive your postal mail - they can't get UPS, FEDEX, freight, etc. Many people also use P.O. boxes to hide behind or have a firewall to customers. People use locations such as The UPS Store to have more credibility than a P.O. box, especially with their businesses.

Just as with any business or office building with internal suites, once a person moves they must change their address individually with each corresponder. If that was not the case, when a person could change their street address to another, ALL the mail from all suites (including attorney, optomotrist, accounting, or any other business suite) at that address would change to the one persons new address.

No facility merely "throws away" the mail. To even say that is pure ignorance. Just as is with the generic P.O. Box, mail for terminated boxes is either forwarded, 'Returned To Sender' or saved for six months before discarding. Most locations use the option to hold the mail for six months, for a customer to have the option receiving any important mail. After six months, all mail is discarded. This protocol is a requirement by USPS for all postal mail and is done at the post office. All this is CLEARLY explained in the contract, whether UPS or post office. Why do people that don't bother reading the contract whine about it later? Answer: the illiterates are inevitably the ones that complain.

If a person would like their mail forwarded, they may also do so. If they send the mail by the standard postal service, it is just as likely to be lost as mail sent directly through the post office. To blame the shipping location when this happens is just wrong. It doesn't matter if it is The UPS Store, Pakmail, Postnet, or a mom and pop shipping shop - mail oten will get lost.

QUESTION: If the mail was THAT importand to spend a bunch of money with a detective (absurd!), why wasn't that mail sent by UPS or FEDEX with a tracking number that can be monitored with a gauranteed arrival day???? I sure would like that explained!

I'm Confuzed

If you use that UPS PO box as a mailing address, why not just go to the US post office and submit a change of address and have your mail forwarded to your new address. I think you can do it on line. Knowing some of those little UPS contract stores, it wouldn't surprise me if they just chucked your mail in the trash. Also good luck suing them in small claims court for $13.24. It'll be a b***h proving it. They'll go, "What mail"? Maybe try renting a PO box from the post office. Years ago, I knew one mailboxes etc. that went under, THREE times in as many years

This complainer has issues.

AUTHOR: Tom - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, October 30, 2009

Why is this complainer, 'Lee', accusing this center about mail that is commonly lost or misdirected by the postal service? The post office often has mailing that are 'lost' (also commonly due to errors and ignorances of the consumer). The post office does not give refunds for standard mail, document mailings, uninsured items, etc.

Small businesses of any name go under leaving customers and debtors at a loss. Why point a finger at a chain of 5000 businesses due to the apparent action of one individual business? If that logic was rational, no one should patronize any business anywhere, because one person has a tantrum, ever. Without exception, this complainer can name any location for similar services and there will be examples of the same perceived problems as well as incidences of business closures.

In my state atleast, indulging confidential issues of any business, active or closed, by a landlord is illegal, yet this complainer states the landlord was willing to breech contractual information to anyone simply for the asking.

Loss of mail, regardless of unlikely charges for services not rendered, is not the jurisdiction of your local police department. This claim of undertaking the monstrous cost of a private detective to chase down lost postal mail is absolutely absurd. The results are inevitable nil.

And this entire illogical complaint is tainted by the way the author, 'Lee', jumps to conclusions, then also seems to have insight of his accused personal life by indicating they are "sluts". It appears this adolescent name-calling complainer has an inferiority complex or an unjustified inherent bitterness. If we watched the daily activities of this complainer, 'Lee', there is no doubt we would witness some very distasteful conduct. Perhaps Lee would solve many of his problems by taking a good hard look in the mirror.
