TRAVRES EXPEDIA Charged us for hotel room plus their commission but no room was reserved for us when we arrived.  Internet

We called a toll free number from the internet to make reservations for hotel in TX. When we arrived we were told the clerk could not find the reservation so she just checked us in & charged us their rate.

We received our credit card statement and there was a charge from TRAVRES (Expedia) for the hotel yet Days Inn also charged us. I called TRAVRES (877-283-5585) and was told (by Andre) that "since you occupied the room that night there is nothing we can do for you." She said she could not refund that amount charged to our credit card.

I told her we were charged both their fee & the hotel's rate for our first night at the hotel. She said she could only see their charges. That is because there was NO reservation at Days Inn from Expedia for us! The hotel clerk had to make a new one, therefore, we were charged the hotel's rate. She said no, the only charge she could see was their (TRAVRES) fee.

She refused to refund us the monies and told me I would have to contact Days Inn. I told her we would dispute the charge with the credit card company and her tone changed (sounded 'cold' now) and she said we could do that if we wanted to. I called Days Inn and the manager was very helpful and said he would contact Expedia and try to get it taken care of for us.  I waited for his call but haven't received it yet. He didn't say how long it would take (& I didn't ask him!) so I'm guessing it may take a while.

I saw on this site (Ripoff Report) that  another person had a similar incident with the same company.

We will NEVER use another place like that again, we will call the hotels DIRECTLY and save money and the headache of problems with the other companies.
