True Logic Financial Attempt to Collect on Alleged Debt at Year 17 Englewood, Englewood Colorado

I have been receiving messages that are recorded that neither identify the caller or identify the reason for calling. I have been getting at least one call every day Monday-Sunday. On January 3 I contacted the number, and after being on hold for 5 minutes by True Logic Financial (the first time that I knew of the identity of the recorded message's caller), an agent answered the phone. I told him that I would like to have the solicitation calls stopped. He told me that True Logic Financial is not a solicitation company and that my husband was in collection for a debt totaling $60.01 that was incurred in 1990.

I told him that I wanted proof that there was a collection and I asked him to put down that we did not want anymore phone calls.

We have since received calls daily. I think that the calls infringe on our rights as stated in 15 USC 1692d (5) (6). Basically, the calls are making my phone ring, and as there is no live person on the other end, this furthers my argument. Also, the calls are deceptive, they do not state the nature of the call or identify the caller. I may be taking this up with the FCC.

On January 6, I received the letter that I requested. It was falsely dated, December 27, 2006. I do not know if it was malicious, but in the course of rights that are reserved for the consumer, this would knock off almost one week of the 30 days that my husband has to respond.

We are sending a certified letter requesting validation of the alleged charges and we have requested further contact unless by mail.

Shame on True Logic Financial. Collection on an alleged account of $60.01 that occured 17 years ago, and one that passed the statue of limitations for collections more than 11 years ago is very counter-productive. Their manner of business, in my opinion, is hard-up and unethical.
