ULTRA SHIELD WILL NOT STAND BEHIND WARRANTY, WILL FIND AN EXCUSE NOT TO PAY ANTHING OFF SOMERSET Kentucky

I purchased furniture from ASHLEY furniture in 5/2005, at this time I also bought the extended warranty from them from ULTRA SHIELD, they sell the stuff very well saying if you have kids you have to have this because it will cover everything for 10 years.

I bought the warranty for all my wood products, Leather couch, and my Fabric couch I paid 646 for it all for 10 years.

On Sept 17 I noticed a cut/burn on the arm of the sofa along with big scratches on the coffee table. So I called and spoke with Margaret McGowan at extension 226, and told here what the issues were, from the start she was wording what I was saying differently, I told her that my kids did something to the arm of the couch and to the coffee table, she asked what they did, I told her that with a toy or other foreign object they damaged the couch and the table, I was not sure what they used. She informed me that a Repair tech would be out within 5 days. Well on day 5 I received a letter saying they are not covering any of the damage because I don't know what caused it.

So I read the warranty fine print, there are two sections, what is covered, and what is not covered. Every Item that is covered is somewhat worded also in the not covered section, For example it states Burns by cigs are Covered, but over in the not covered section is says" ANY DAMAGES CAUSED BY TOBACCO PRODUCTS ARE NOT COVERED" and then down the line it states if you try to clean the area prior to a tech inspection it voids all warrantees. Well that is just funny I think anyone who notices a damaged area will try to clean it especially if you have kids.

Well on the next business day I contacted them back asking what the deal was, I told them I know what caused the damage and that it states in the warranty that it is covered. She then asked me what caused the damage, I told her my kids, "no what did they use" a toy I said. She then said than since I didn't know for sure that it's not getting covered.

I asked to speak with a manager and asked for a refund of all my warrantees. She stated it is prorated and they will send out a letter to tell me what I will receive.

I receive the letter and on a warranty I paid $646 and was a 10 year warranty it is prorated that I get $312 back. Not even half and it's been only 2 years.

This is a joke and this Company need to be shut down.
