I received this offer on April 2, 2013 via USPS & would expire by April 17, 2013 if I did not send the $37 annual membership fee. It states I have been pre-approved in capital bold letters & Platinum, Guaranteed $10,000.00, Visa, Mastercard, Low, Low interest rate 5% Apr, This is a limited time offer and all deadlines are final (all in bold & capital letters). This is all to make one feel important and ready to send them that $37 annual membership fee.

I feel this is a huge scam and as someone who is financially embarrassed might consider it. Not happening I just want this company to be dealt with as I'm sure they're sending this to the elderly also.

Please read those letters carefully. It does not say it is offering a "Visa/MasterCard" it say "You don't have to worry if you have not been access to a VISA or MasterCard. The UWCS Platinum Card Membership" it did not say VISA/MasterCard it says MEMBERSHIP. Read carefully

I Checked Their Website and.....

What I found it they have ads running on the side of the page with an EXTERNAL link to get a national credit card.  I think I saw a Visa and Discover card there.  Understand, these are ads for these cards but in the main part of the page is their typical sales pitch to get their "credit card" which is only good for their high priced catalog sales.  Further understand, I am NOT saying their offer is a good deal.  Its a terrible deal!  However, if they are offering their "card" for a fee and you get the opportunity to "buy" their high priced junk and then this isn't a scam!  It may be a very bad deal, but its not a scam.  I've seen their written as well as web based material.  NONE of it I've seen says you're going to get a Visa, Master Card or Discover card FROM THEM...just this FAKE credit card which you can only use in their catalog.  The problem is so many people do not read what they get from then and in their min they "fill in the blanks" thinking the "credit card" is going to be a name brand version.  They send in their money and they receive exactly what they paid for and NOT what they fantacized about!

Their offer is a "credit card" which you can only use with their catalog with high priced junk.  But you are saying their offer is a Visa or Master Card for $37?  In other words they are saying "for $37 they will send you a Visa or Master Card"?

The reason they have the "D" PHONEY rating is because they have not yet PAID for a higher one.  Do not place ANY importance in the BBB.  The BBB is a SCAM.  Anybody can buy ANY "rating" they want.  The BBB PHONEY Accreditation program is useless and nothing more than a cheap con-game.  ANYBODY can buy into the BBB and if you want an A+ "rating" all ther business needs to do is BUY it just like you can buy a phoney diploma.  Check out YouTube and enter the search for "BBB Scam".

My husband received the letter this morning (April 3rd 2013) and I went online to do my research before I sent them any money, and to make sure that it wasn't just a buy online deal. I'm glad I did!I read reviews that said they had a D with the BBB and bad reviews there also. Apparently it is one of those cards where you buy strictly from the sites they allow, with exorbitant interest rates.

And yes, they did use Visa(R) and MasterCard(R) in bold the the letter. I've realized that if it sounds too easy, it is too easy, and don't go for it!

Did the paperwork actually use the words "VISA" and "MASTERCARD"?
