Union Workers Credit Services Read the letter VERY carefully! Dallas Texas

I'm so delighted to have opened up the RipOff Report to find that there are a few smart Americans out there who aren't falling for this Sh*t!

This approval letter from Union Services Credit Union AND there webpage to enter the approval code are about as "cold call-ish" as I've ever seen.

Problem one:

1. There is no website or phone number on the approval letter. What if the potential enrollee had questions about their enrollment process?

2A. The letter says in the first paragraph, the credit limit is valid towards all credit purchaes from credit provider.

2B. The second paragrah of the letter says, "You don't have to worry if you have been denied access to Visa or Mastercard". WARNING! WARNING! Common sense dictates that this pretty much wipes out the two major credit carriers in America. Since the envelope isn't marked "American Express" or "Discover", you pretty much have to assume that its not $10,000 worth of spendable cash that they are offering you.

3. Read the small print. If you didnt "get it" in paragraphs one or two two, scan down to the teeny tiny lil small print at the bottom of the letter. It says, "The amount referenced herein shall not be construed to function as any type of multi-purpose credit card and is exclusively applicable for credit purchases from UWCS".

4. Any upstanding company that is going to offer you a PLATINUM anything isn't going to charge you a service fee up front. They simply include it in the back end, in a fee attached to your bill.

5. The website says that the services are for Union Workers and their families. Who doesn't have someone in their family - somewhere - at some time, who worked for a Union? My father works for a Union, but I hardly doubt that at the age of 30, any credit services are going to take his Union membership as a vouching document for my credit-worthiness!!!! Further proof that they dont know who I know or am related to is the long list of unions that I am allowed to choose from for my affiliation.

Nope - this letter is going into the bottom of the bin ---- along with all of those old Fingerhut catalogs!
