United Collection Bureau Illegal Tactics?! Toledo Ohio

I received notification from my place of employment concerning a phone call. Returning the call I had found that UCB was contacting me. I talked to the lady named Gena about my debt and explained the situation to her about my employment and offered to pay a monthly payment to them. She refused the payment and reiterated that I had to apply for a loan to pay for it or make two enormous payments within a limited amount of time. She even told me to borrow money from relatives. Of course I refused her requests and tried to work out a mutually beneficial deal. She refused this also. Gena said that they would garnish my wages and ruin my credit. My credit is good because I do pay my bills and on time. This is what I explained to her.

She threatened me about calling my employer and obtaining my personal information about my employment many times. During this I had told her do not call my employment several times, but insisted she would. She yelled and screamed at me so loudly on the telephone that my child and fiance had heard it and listened to the demeaning and rude behavior of this lady.

Finally, after all the threats of garnishing my wages, paying their attorney fees and ruining my credit. I asked repeatedly to talk to her supervisor. This apparently had made her really desperate and angry causing the abuse to get even worse. Everyone in my household was in awe and astonished how she was screaming yelling and degrading me. So, I calmly asked her several more times to talk to her supervisor. Finally she switched me over to the supervisor's voice mail. I left a decent message and never received a call from her.

I have never been so humiliated and degraded on the phone before and I will never take the verbal and mental abuse from this company again. I have researched her behavior and threats and find it to be illegal. Everyone should look up their rights and protections. Hopefully this behavior and conduct will be corrected.
