Paul, you need to refund me by now. I sent you $7,000, the minimum franchise fee. You say how easy it is to place these flimsy machines. No one wants one of the cheap displays attached th the wall, most businesses are renters, and are not allowed to screw something to the wall. I cant get the stupid locks to work right. Kids seem to love to stand there and yank out all the cards, then the business owners complain. I have called too many time to speak with you,,where are you, do you have a rolling number?? I was supposed to get the "free" stands, but well, I already paid 7k, so they are not really free. This is BS, you lied and stole my money. I will see you in a downtown Federal Building. Good luck sir

Anyone thinking about "buying" universal advertising" At Home Business" beware. First, understand this is an "at home business" not a franchise. For us po folk, this means once the product is paid for and delivered, your on your own, it doesn't matter what "Paul" promises over the phone, you are on your own, he will laugh and degrade you when you fail. Second, Universal Advertising ran under a similar name several years ago, Universal Advertising INC. same but different. History folks, this scammer has practice, so if you think you can put a little pressure on him, be alert, be smart and don't get involved if the first place.

RUN FROM UNIVERSAL ADVERTISING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also invested my $11,495 back in February. I thought this was going to be the business of a lifetime. I was told by Derrick Peavy that this was a very simple business. You take this cardholder system to a store, a car wash, a pizza place, anywhere. Well, I bought in. I received the boxes from UPS, and opened it up. Interesting. Looked ok. So I took it to 10 stores the first day. I was very excited. I went to my favorite car wash place, and offered to hag this on their wall. I was turned away. They did not want to clutter u their walls with this cr*p.
Ok, another car wash, they said they use to have a system like this there, and it became a big problem, a huge mess on the floor with cards and brochures. Another no. the pizza place, no, the laundromat, no. I hit a lot of rejection, but chalked it up to being my first day. Well, the rest of that week, and month was more of the same. 1 guy said he would think about it and get back to me. He never did. After 7 weeks of hearing no all the time I decided to contact Derrick Peavy again. I emailed him at dpeavy@universaladvertising.com . See what he thinks. He told me not to contact him anymore, that I needed to contact support, told me to email support@universaladvertising.com. NO one's name in particular, just email them. So I did, I emailed and asked advise, why am I not making any $. Why am I not doing anything? Well, about 72 hours later I was answered. I was given some pointers, and went out to try some more places.
I received more no's, finally 1 guy said yes. I got the system in his car wash the next day, and from there informed Universal Advertising. I gave them the info as instructed. Well, 1 weeks later I checked in on the car wash that accepted the system. I was told that the cards & brochures became a total mess, all over the floor. And get this, Universal Advertising contacted them to see if they were interested in finding out if the guy had more stores/car washes.. If they wanted some assistance from the corporate offices, and if they were interested in putting his cards in other peoples systems.
The tried to screw me over!
Once I heard about that, I called in yelling. Got a call back from Paul, the owner, and he told me more or less that they were allowed to do it, and that was that. I called my lawyer and got on it ASAP. Now we are still fighting it out in court. The beauty of it all is they hide behind their voicemails, and emails, and lies on the internet.
I just wanted everyone to know that they are a scam of a company, and will RIP YOU OFF.
RUN FROM UNIVERSAL ADVERTISING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Just ask anyone "how do you hand out your cards?"". Wow, what a line. I posted my displeasure on another board, to warn off any other potential suckers, and you got so rude!!. You really showed off your true colors. What a great businessman. Hey, everyone, this is a Bogus franchise. A one timer, he claims he will not offer support after you send him a check, and he sticks too it. Even if he should help out..

universal advertising's scam, time to stop hiding guys, I want my $ back
AUTHOR: Stephen L - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, December 16, 2004
I read the lines A SERIOUS INCOME BEGINS HERE on universal advertising's web site about 3 months ago as I was looking into having a home based business. Well, I called in to 800-731-1311 and asked to be contacted by someone regarding buying in. Well, a man named Derrick Peavy ( 404-786-5036 ) called me and spoke to me several times over about going in, Once I have the $12,000, I sent it in as a cashiers check, as requested, and waited about 7 weeks for the stuff
I was told over and over again that I did not need to be a salesman, that the stores would be more than happy to have this in their stores Well, I went in with a smile, and walked out with a no, over and over again. No one wanted this cluttering up the walls, and making a mess on their floors. 1 place had an advertising agency working in there. So apparently the business is more flooded that I was initially told. So then I go on these web sites and see that you can also buy the program on EBAY for much less than my initial investment of $12,000
Well, now I am stuck with this stuff, I cannot get it into stores. I have called the 888 #, and left messages, sent emails to

It's time to stop hiding guys, I want my $ back and to send this clutter back to you. It didn't work out for me, and I feel that is because of their lack of support and training.
Their actual address is
25 S. Main St. Suite 110-B
Centerville, Utah 84014
United States
I am thinking of going there with a camera crew. Look for them on 60 minutes & 20/20
Their web site is hosted by a company called Wasatch Dynamics. I called in to speak to someone there and get more info, but apparently Paul from universal advertising (the president of the scam) well he told them not to give out any info to me. And to direct me to their lawyer.
Hey Paul, Did you know for $7.95 you can get criminal records on ANYONE!!! I am waiting to get the records on you shortly.
O also, the former president was Mr Jeff Marsh. Laura Porter was his secretary. I am going to track them down, maybe they have info.

SUBMITTED: Tuesday, December 14, 2004
I have worked for Universal advertising for nearly two years now and find this whole forum troubling!... 1st there is NOT A FRANCHISE 2nd This Opportunity is sold as a sole ownership with the responsibility to run and operate it on the entreprenuer, we do not run around the world refilling peoples card dispensers,,,I wonder if they bought a car from Ford if they are waiting for a Ford rep to come and fill there gas tank when it is low?? and as for help, if they would read their Success Manuals they would know what the correct email address for help was coaching@.
If we are not contacted properly we cannot respond..I have NEVER seen or heard of us not returning a call, that just does not happen here!...we have looked up every complaint here and none of these people exsist in our database, it appears that there is something for them to hide by not giving true names and address but then again there is NO truth in there complaints either... Ripoff report people, why do you not confirm these slanderous reports before posting them??????? Last time I checked, libel and slander were still against the law. By the way the above rebuttal "realy broke now" is not and never has been an employee of this company and neither has Steve Helphand. You really should should check these things out Ed. and this is my real name and city and state!

the Universal Advertising scheme ...scam
AUTHOR: Really_Broke_Now - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, December 13, 2004
I bought in to the Universal Advertising scheme after speaking to my rep Steve Helphand. The investment was quite substantial, $19,995.00 (we have experienced additional charges from these gusy too!!!) , but I went in for it after being fed this line:
You can charge each advertiser an annual fee per location. For example: $120 (just $10/ month!) for business cards and $360 (just $30/ month!) for brochures. In this example, one filled Profit Center generates $5,040 annually! Now, imagine if you charged MORE than $10 for the cards and $30 for the brochures.
Sounded great. I was sold. If you figure $5,040 -x- The estimated 50 customers I was supposed to be given = $250,000+++. WOW! So I took out a loan and then I received the Profit Center.and went out to convince businesses into allowing my
I tried to work the Profit Center and nothing. I took the company up with their offer of Lifetime E-mail coaching/Support..well the email support only works when they answer the emails. I emailed corp@, support@nothing. NO answers until finally I got a little bit of help. But not the advertising expertise I paid for. Finally I convinced 3 stores to allow me to put my profit center up on their walls. 2 Car washes, and a realtor. Well. The at the car wash places, I checked on my cards and brochures, only to find out most people use them to write notes, basic reminders for their shopping list, or look at it and throw it on the floor, only to be eventually swept up and thrown away by the cleaning staff. So I expected that Universal Advertising would refill the cards for me, but they forgot. And one of the displays were empty for about 3 weeks. I sure made lots of money there huh? Also, getting people to place cards in there is a shot in the dark. No one wants to waste their $ on cards only to be trashed by the handfuls.
I am trying to get my , $19,995.00 back, but now I see they are selling it on EBAY! Yes, much much cheaper. Seems like they are trying to get rid of this stuff any way they can.I have called in over and over again only to get the cold shoulder. Before you invest, call 800-731-1311ask for Steve Helphand. See if he still answers to that name of it he changed it. Get all the info you can.Rememebr this is a scam, and you need to be careful with crooks like this.

Universal Advertising Cheap Franchies owner

SUBMITTED: Monday, December 13, 2004
Well, I am the proud owner of an UNIVERSAL ADVERTISING franchise. So, now that you know that, I am not to proud of it either. I sent in $7000 dollars from our savings, which is what my husband and I are living on, we are retired. We are allwed to make $3000 a year, each, without affecting our SS.Well, not to worry, we are making nothing on this business. In fact after we pay the local trash guy to come and get these cheap, flimsy business card displays out of the garage, then pay our accountant to write this fake business as a total loss,,,,well lets say, beans and potatoes will be a feast. This is wrong, I was lied to and that is not right.

SUBMITTED: Monday, December 13, 2004
After reviewing our records from our inception, NO ONE from Cudahy has ever called our company, in fact, no one named CURT or CURTIS has ever called our company from Wisconsin. Upon further research, only 15 people named Curt or Curtis have ever called our company WORLDWIDE. It is disturbing that slanderous and libelous materials can be posted on the internet. We attempt to return all calls made to us. There are people throughout the world that are successful in this business. We provide support in the way of a Success/Start up Kit and on-going e-mail coaching. Since this is a fallacious report, we can only address what we do. We cannot nor will not guarantee anyone's success in life-no one can. We do provide an opportunity, if worked, that can be very successful.

Advertisers above have met our
strict standards for business conduct.
