I am currently a student at UOP. I have not had any bad experiences (other than the outrageous tuition bill) but, I am very concerned about what I read here. I was already thinking about transfering to a University on Campus..(I am currently attending online courses.) and I worry that my credits (that I paid good money for) will not be transferable.

The first class I took was a "Distance Learning" course in which one of the assignments was a Elevator Speech. The requirements we're to write a essay on how to tell prospective students "the benifits of getting a degree through UOP" This seemed like nothing more than a marketing scheme that I am paying 795.00 dollars for! I am a single woman with little education (other than high school)and I can not afford to pay 30,000 dollars for a degree that is not respected. Someone please help me! Im unsure of what to do! How do I get out of here without getting a huge bill for tution?

Not much you can do

AUTHOR: Lloyd - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 16, 2005

Once you entered into the UOP educational system there is not much you can do except pay what you have agreed to. The best choice is not to start if you can not finish. $30,000 is the cost; that is what it is.

I am a graduate of the UOP Bachelors Management program and faithfully went to school every day there was class. I fought the system every step of the way because I thought I was not getting my money's worth. My classes were "in-seat" and the admin office was very cooperative in all issues.

I could not have done it any other way.

After graduation I enrolled in Davenport University Masters program. All the UOP classes transfered. I did not have a single problem.

I am now $40,000 in student loan debit, but if education is all cracked up as to what it claims I should get a job that will support paying it back. It is a risk. If I do not get a job, Oh Well; at least trying was worth it all.

UOP might have been expensive, but they gave me the chance that other universities required I prove to them that I was worthy of being their student.

UOP may not be the best way, but for me it was the only way
