We were connected to Unsecured Business Funding through a website where we entered our info looking for small business financing.  At first everything seemed good.  They didn't want a ton of money up front like some others, seemed to know what they were talking about, didn't "promise the sun, moon & stars".  It seemed logical in how they explained their process.

We paid the $249 initially and then were quickly lured into their offer of creating a business credit profile for an additional $1,500.  We spoke to them on Monday August 6th about this additonal service and they scheduled us for their "1st avail appt" for Friday the 9th and we were told the credit card would be charged only after we spoke with there representative on that Friday.

Luckily a little voice in our head said....better check this out in more detail before we shell out the $1,500 additional.  And sure enough, the BBB had 166 complaints on file and rated the company a C- . Holy cow, we were so glad we looked "before" we paid the $1500.  I then sent an email to the Utah Attorney General to inquire about complaints against this company.

We then saw other rip off reports and realized we had better check our credit card because some of the other complaints said they were charged before they were supposed to be charged....and guess what......our card had already been charged the $1,500.  We immediately called our credit card company to dispute the charge and we prepared the letter notifying the company that we were cancelling the agreement for additional services.

I couldn't help but notice that the time between when we spoke to them and they offered this additional service to when they could get us their "1st avail appt" was more than the 3 business day period within which you can cancel.  Considering all the complaints that have been filed against this company, I can't believe that they are still in operation.  When I hear back from the Utah AG I will certainly be interested in hearing what they have to say about this.  All of this just unfolded tonight, so time will tell how it all turns out.
