I was reviewing my paypal account and I was floored to see a 99 euros charge  that I didn't recall making which translates into a whopping $146.33 US! Trying not to panic, I called the company immediately...after countless minutes of being forced to listen excruciatingly bad music I was hung up on...so i call again...at the same time trying to locate site and enter with my email and usual passwords...trying to deduct just what this company usenet.nl could possibly do for me...unable to log in and suffering through another long wait with terrible music i request password info to be sent to my email....

It never arrives in my email box regardless of the FIVE times I requested and was shown "log-in information has been sent" FINALLY a very rude woman comes on the line and tell me "an email was sent to me July 21st and it clearly stated if I didn't cancel my paypal would be charged and because I did not cancel there was nothing she could do....I asked to speak to her supervisor and she plainly said "no you can not" I repeated the request and "no" i would not be able to him...I told her just what I thought "you all are rip-offs!" so she hung up on me...I called back hoping to get another representative and subjected to listen to the horrible music for what seemed like hours ....

at the same time, using my computer to open a dispute with paypal (who I LOVE) ...never got through to a representative from usenet.nl again, despiste my five or six attempts...after about 15 mins a recording comes on and says "all agents are busy use our website - goodbye' and hangs up on you.  well using the website was not an option for me - without a password you can not write to them and well i never did receive the supposive "log on" information.  I searched my emails for anything from usenet.nl specifically  july 21st...nothing...so i googled "scam" with "usenet.nl" and wow! I wasn't alone on this scam...and then I found another woman on rip-off.com who had never heard of usenet.nl until she used Goliath...there it was - I too had used Goliath -

I had canceled my worthless 3 day free trial immediately after signing up for it with the culprit Goliath..I had the cancellation confirmation email to prove it...HOW usenet.nl managed to slip in on that coat tail is still unknown to me...I am awaiting paypal's investigation and thought i would add to the reports...DO NOT USE GOLIATH or USENET.NL - they will take money and not just a little but $148.33  for a year of services and they will offer you no resolution whether or not you want need or even use their services! HUGE RIP-OFF artists who should be fined jailed or at least be forced to listen to there horrible telephone music for every waking minute of their lives!

lies lies and more lies...
support form doesn't need log on?  Perhaps you might actually LOOK at it one day before writing untruths..below is copied and pasted from the web address provided by you, here, and I am unable to send anything with out a password...

I strongly urge your company to change this as it not only prevents communication, it makes your company, usenet.nl,  appear to be shady - which well, it IS!

No longer matters, after a 10 day wait Paypal refunded my money...usenet.nl did not reply to ONE of the emails paypal sent for more information, so I got my money back...I suggested to paypal that they should no longer work with usenet.nl and they are looking into it...

I am here to warn others to STAY CLEAR of usenet.nl ...do not fall for any sort of free trial ...they will take $99 Euros ($146.33 us)  right out of your account - AND canceling is not easy - sometimes it is NOT even possible, regardless of the rubbish media relations is spewing here - "media relations appear to be completely clueless!  They have given me false information (right here) twice now - the email does not work (not even provided on site - it was only provided here - sent back to me as undeliverable) and to send an inquiry, as suggested above, you must provide a password.  Added is the fact that when I couldn't provide the information using the passwords I would have chosen and always choose for free trials - when I hit the 'send password" button many many times - it says log in information sent to your email - well nothing EVER showed up in my inbox ....Customer service is a joke, RUDE and refusal is all I got...and there is no supervisor to speak to....

If you end up with a bogus charge like I did just file a claim with paypal, you'll get your money back eventually...I received mine after 10 days.  usenet.nl may wake up one day and change their policies  - until then  - STAY CLEAR!

In addition to that we have to mention that we are not related to "Goliath". If you never signed up on our website it might be a case of data abuse. 
 
As you experienced problems submitting your E-Mail to mediarelations@usenet.nl you can also try to resend your message to response@usenet.nl.

How interesting media relations...I would very much like my money back in my account ..do you think you might mention to your superiors that ripping people off is not very good for your business image? Perhaps you might want to suggest usenet.nl refrain from using illegal business practices to take - steal, rob, whatever you want to call it -$148.33 from me? a year of service I never used wanted or needed??? And I had already read your standard form letter rebuttal on this site. Obviously usenet.nl has some integrity issues, lousy customer service practices and many very unhappy victims in the world or I wouldn't be writing this here on this forum (first time) and you would not be here trying to explain (????) why i was ripped off $148.33, eh?  I had already used the email you provide in your form letter ...I got it from other posts here on this site ..from others you have robbed!  I tried to email "media relations" immediately... as soon as I was charged! Please be aware (because it is downright offensive and you keep writing it regardless of the fact it is not, repeat NOT true) that while you may say "you could cancel anytime, it's right there on the site and emails were sent to you and you wanted the service because you didn't cancel bla bla bla" IT IS NOT TRUE (and I am amazed you don't know this or that you keep acting as if you don't) it just doesn't work that way..you cannot hit a cancel button or even send in inquiry on the usenet.nl site UNLESS - now please listen...please hear me .... this is important - you cannot do anything on the site -  ie cancel your free trial , write to the company via the "inquiry" button etc... NO YOU CANNOT, repeat CANNOT write anything at all - unless you have a password! Do you understand? NO password NO clicking the "cancel my subscription" button, DO YOU get it? Added is the fact that I never received the password that I am told is associated with my email - it doesn't even matter that I pushed the "forgot password" button time and time again...and received "password has been sent!" each time - I STILL have still NOT received the so-called necessary password - the password the usenet.nl site claims to have sent to my email about gee, 5 times on Friday July 29th...the only choice i had was to call ...and then spend my time, WAY TOO MUCH TIME with no answer... and there is also a frustrating recording "all agents are busy  - please go to our website" "Good-bye" and hangs up on you...then after all that horrid music i am forced to listen to, all the time spent on hold...when I FINALLY get through to a customer service rep and I am  told, "there is nothing I can do for you , because you didn't cancel after 14 days and hey, we sent you an email explaining if we didn't hear from you then your account would be charged..end of story!  I have never had a company who might have charged me something, like a initial free trial, and not work with me and at least consider a partial refund...not usenet.nl...charged for an ENTIRE year ...charged for a service I NEVER USED WANT OR NEED...and the charge could not have been more than at the most a few hours and most likely a few minutes! I was viewing my paypal account when the charge appeared! I was charged without my knowledge or consent ...AND I have purchased an entire YEAR of services for $148.33 - please do NOT even tell me about "the OPTION" paying monthly  for a service I NEVER even wanted....NEEDED or WANTED!! OR EVEN USED!!!!and again, this is the very IMPORTANT part and it needs to be understood---if you haven't a PASSWORD then you CAN NOT do those things or ANYTHING no matter how many times you tell people 'it is so simple and clear! Do you understand? No password - There is nothing you can do...no contact info on site?  password and account numbers needed to even send an inquiry?  No cancellation possible no matter what...no email sent?  no supervisors to speak to? gee if it looks, sounds and acts  like a duck? IT IS A SCAM and a nasty knock you down one too...this isn't a $9.99 scam or even a $29.99, $39.99 or $49.99 scam it is $148.33 scam and it is immediately taken from your account...a deceptive, awful, terrible nasty rude scam..below is the response I received after writing to media relations at usenet.nl friday .... as you suggested ..PLEASE - just return my money!!!! Seriously...$148.33? That money was needed for my family and still is ...Paypal is awaiting (7 days) for usenet.nl's response - as am I!
