VALUE BRAKES SAFETY CONCERNS ripoff JACKSONVILLE BEACH Florida

On June 23, 2006 I took my PT Cruiser to Value Brakes. I knew I needed new brakes. They told me I also needed new rotors, and that they could not put an unsafe vehicle back on the road. They replaced front and back pads.Total bill $321.98.

I did not drive the next week or so due to vacation, but when I got in my car I noticed vibrating, it got so bad I could not see vehicles in my rear view mirror. Since Value Brakes was the place that touched my car I took the car back to Value Brakes on 7/5/06, they test drove said they felt it, and took the front tires off to check it out. They said sorry it was not the brakes.

The next day I took my car to Midas, the manager drove it around, pulled in a bay while I watched, and called me over. The lug nuts on the back drivers side tire were not even finger tight. I was told I was very fortunate that the tire did not fall off. Value Brakes put me back in an unsafe vehicle, not once but twice.

I called their costumer concern line-it's a recording. I called back a few times got the same thing. I finally contacted the BBB and filed a report. I received a response from them on 8/3/06, it stated that Value Brakes was making full refund.

WRONG. I spoke to Jay Clark the District Manager on 8/15/06, he said the warranty remains in effect, I still have the brakes, and I was getting nothing. Then he offered me $175.00 back. I have not responded yet.
