We went to Van Chevrolet to buy a 2002 Trailblazer. After the whole 6 hr deal and many haggling, we drove home in the veh.

Almost 2 wks later, Mr. Finance (Ernie) calls us to ask the method in which we paid our down pmt. Well, we never paid one. I explained this to him, stating that during the initial talks we spoke about originally putting $0 down, then settled on $800. That was at about 2 hrs into the whole day. Then we signed the final paperwork w/finance "E" no mention was made, but magically our pmt date was moved up to 30 days instead of 45 (which we had agreed on). When we questioned this, "E" told us that this gave us a better interest rate.

"E" told us there was nothing he could do, we would have to bring in the $800 or the truck back. So then I spoke to his one of the supposed "new car sales manager" (everyones a manager at these places-too many Chiefs, not enough Indians) "Steve Pena" who was the most obnoxious person I have ever had to deal with. He was very arrogant and kept saying that we agreed to the $800 and when I asked him about the 30 days, he said he wasnt aware of that but that wasn't his problem. I also told him there was no way we would have agreed to a down pmt of $800 and then a pmt due in just a couple weeks. Nothing. I then requested to speak to his manager, who he said was the owner and conviently was not in. The last thing that he said was "Bring in MY money, or MY truck!" And he also said that if we didnt get this loan through them, he would make sure we wouldn't get approved anywhere.

Well, I don't do well with ultimatums, so I brought the truck back, but only after speaking with the bank who has supposedly "approved" us for the loan. And another dealership. Both told us that this bank, with our credit history would not approve $800 down, we had to put at least $1000 down, and that Van Chevrolet never had an approval, they hadn't even sent our other paperwork in!

Well, when I took the truck back, oh how the tables turn. Steve was no longer being a jerk, but pleading for me to keep the truck, stating he could write up another contract, with $800 and put the pmt out 45 days. and also lower the price of the veh. Did I mention , I put 1000 miles on the truck? After repeatedly telling him no, another scam-manager comes out and states that he could give me an awesome deal, they got approval from the GM. But I said, "I thought he was out of town, you didnt want to work me 2 days ago, but now that I've called your bluff you want to work wonders. NEGATIVE! I told them I would not do business with a shady business. Especially since Steve also started out the whole conversation saying that he never told me to bring the truck back. LIARS. Then he tried to tell me that someone got fired over this (SO and that is really my business, true or untrue) and he had a toothache (pathetic) I told him that my I had a stomachache from all the bull@#** that I was getting..

Then their true colors come out, and they say they will charge me for mileage. WRONG!! On the back of the contract, (by the way a loan was never assigned on it) it states the vehicle must be returned and I am responsible for repairs and damge above/beyond normal wear and tear. Well my job is 45 miles away (one way) and my husband the same , among other things, so I could prove my mileage was reasonable. Bottom line, I told them I couldn't possibly start a relationship with a dealership that has already started their end on such a lack of professionalism, integrity, and morals. They were hot!!!

Needless to say, the very next morning, I went to another dealership, put $1000 down on my brand new 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee from the same bank, and drove away, that day, with an "APPROVAL" and no drama since. The bank was also willing to do a 60 day out pmt if we chose to. That would not affect the interest rate. I can't wait for the "Customer (dis)Satisfaction Survey" to arrive from Chevy!!!!!
