I got this so call settlement from the so called lawyers in the mail today.

This has got be the biggest joke. The judge in this suit must be a total_____ because to recieve any part of this settlement you must renew or get a service contract with Verizon. SO to get a lousy case or $30 credit from Verizon, you have to sign a one or 2 year contract. On a normal plan at verizon is one phone, 600 mintes is 49.95 a month plus FEES is $60 a month for 12 months is $720. Do they think we are idiots enough to spend $720 to save $30!

I guess they do because the judge must be to agree to this STUPID idiotic settlement in favor of Verizon. AND reading all infomation packet sent to me reads that way. We are paying Verizon to recieve Nothing.
I cancelled my service with tem and they billed me the for turning off my service and i only had it less than a month. WOW

yOUR REPLY SOUNDS LIKE AN AD FOR VERIZON.

WOW why am i not surprised that you is an employee of verizon. I had verizon for quite a long time. I moved to kentucky and down here the service is terrible. I talked to Verizon quite a few times and they even told me my service area was very poor. But they would not do anything to help with the problem. So i was told by Verizon to get a new phone and that should solve my problem. All that did was get me into a new contract with them. So I cancelled that one and had to pay 175.00 to cancel it and my second phone was 175.00 total $350.

I dont know where you get your info from but here you have 15 days only!! And on top of that they told me to wait and not cancel until they check the service area which took them a month to do. So they (Verizon) had there cake and was eating it to. The biggest thing is VERIZON HERE SAYS IT DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU WILL GET IN HOME SERVICE!!!! You know inside your home DAAAA

I actually found several people benefitted from this settlement, which in order to take part in you had to be a customer before a specific date. Now as far as the settlement the 30 service rebate was one option, you could also recieve free text messaging and some other rebates. in all there are 10 or 12 offers on 2 vouchers, you get to chose 1 from each. many customers are upgrading their phones and renewing their contracts at the same time, and take advantage of the service credit, text messages, free headset and some of the other offers.

as far as the plans on the phones. i think the best plan if you have just one line and don't use too many minutes is the 39.99 450 minute plan that gives you unlimited nights and weekends and unlimited verizon to verizon calls ("in" calling). The first month's bill is always high because your paying for the partial month in which you start your service, plus one month in advance, and then any activation fees you may have. also as far as returning and diconnecting service in less than month, our policy is no penalty or fees (other than for the days of service you used) with in 15 days.
