On July 5, my daughter ordered a phone. By July 15, it had not been delivered, so we called Customer Service and learned that it hadn't even been shipped! This is unacceptable. We were told that it would be shipped immediately. Then, on July 20, still not having received the phone, we called Customer Service once again and learned that the phone STILL had not been shipped! At that point, we CANCELED the order.
Then lo and behold, on July 29, our bank account reflected a debit for $164.61 (the price of the phone), and the phone was delivered to us. For Christ's sake, the order had been canceled--more than a week earlier!
Virgin Mobile had no right to send us the phone, nor to hit our bank account. Their careless actions in handling this mattter--to their satisfaction, I might add--has put us into a major hardship and is completely unacceptable.
We are shipping the phone back to Virgin Mobile, unopened. We have demanded that they cancel or credit the debit they made to our bank account, immediately, and we have already filed a notice of intent to initiate a chargeback, through our bank. We are currently filing consumer complaints with several entities. Additionally, we are letting everyone we know (and as published authors, that is considerable!) about Virgin Mobile's bottom-of-the-barrel Customer service, in hopes that the same nightmare won't befall them.
Additionally, Customer Service had advised us that a credit would be issued for a service plan, because Virgin Mobile doesn't even have coverage in our section of our zip code. That charge was for $38.41. And, you guessed it... we still have not received a credit for it.
