WACHOVIA/WELLS FARGO MISSING CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSIT TEMPLE, Texas

Back in 2008 I purchased a Certificate of Deposit for my daughter from what was then Wachovia bank in the amount of $11,000.  I acquired the money from the sale of my late mother's home and I figured a CD was a good way to make sure the funds would be available by the time my daughter would start college. 

The Certificate of Deposit was for 36 months so it should have matured last year.  Wachovia is now Wells Fargo, the name has changed but 3 of the same employees are employed there.  They have no record of the CD, they pretty much said "we're really sorry but there's nothing we can do for you". 

Not only did they not have a record of the CD I purchased for my daughter, but they also said my son never had a CD either (they were purchased within a week of each other, my ex-husband purchased his in the amount of $5000).  My ex-husband did cash in my son's CD with no problem, but the bank told me my son never had a CD. 

The record keeping for Wells Fargo is horrible. They have no sense of accountability. They have showed zero empathy and offered no suggestions. I feel they are taking advantage of the little guy and I will use every avenue available to make sure people are aware their money could be missing.
