I purchased a 32" ILO LCD Television less than a year ago from Wal-Mart in Buckhannon. I turned the television off to turn in and woke up and the television would not turn on. The red light indicating power is there but the on/off button on the television and the remote gets no response except for a click. I decided to do some research and found out that this is one of the many known issues with these television brand. Wal-Mart discontinued business with ILO because they would not stand behind their products. I did not purchase the extended warranty and it is past Wal-Marts 90 day warranty so they refuse to issue me a credit so I can purchase a new television and take the junk back they sold me knowing they were having issues with the company. Let's see now they stopped doing business with a company that would not back their products but they won't back what they sell? Ummmm sounds like a double standard here. They gave me the manufacturers number which constantly rings busy (strange don't you think). Even if I could get a hold of them the company is in CA and I live in WV shipping this thing back would be around 150.00 plus the cost of fixing it. Local repairman can not fix it because they can not get parts for it. So here I am with a 500.00 television that will not power on, wal-mart does not want it back, and I can not get through to the manufacturer. I really do not know what Wal-Mart thinks the manufacturer is going to do for me it they would not do anything for Wal-Mart. Contacted Corp headquarters to see if their managment would override the local management comment was we will kick it up to upper management they will contact you in a "few" business days. We will see.

Wal-Mart should contact their customers about discontinuation of a product because it is faulty. I thought I was purchasing something good and would be backed by them because I was their brand name. Ha!

It's not Wal-Mart's responsibility to come in contact with everyone who have bought a product that is now on recall. Do you have any idea how much time, research, record-keeping, etc that would take? Sorry to say, but it is the customer's responsibility to research the internet, watch tv news, look at in-store notifications, whatever it takes to see what all is recalled. After all, this is what all the resources mentioned above are for.

Sorry if I offended you, but people don't seem to understand that even though we are a strong corporation, there are limits to what we CAN do.
