At a recent visit to Wal-Mart Supercenter due to a flat tire (purchased at Wal-Mart and purchased warranty) my fiance and I were treated very rudely by the employees inside the Service Center. After a few exchanged words, apparently I was reported to the Service Center manager.

While waiting patiently in line inside the Service Center to find out how much this warranty I purchased would cover on my new tire an lady with no uniform or name tag approaches the counter and rudely asks, "Did someone need me?" I responded with, "Well, can you help me?" Once again she rudely replies, "What do you need?" I gave her my warranty and requested to know what it would cover including a few "bad" words. She replied by telling me that if I were going to use language like that she wouldn't do anything for me. At this point I rephrased my question and asked again. She finally tells me that the warranty I had purchased for $9.00 would cover $7 and some change toward a new one. I did not want to stand the 3 hour wait for $7 and I took my warranty and we left....

Now the funny part of the story. Explain to me how when we got literally across the street to Sears Automotive 3 police cars had already arrived and my fiance who had said one entire sentence the whole time I was arguing with the so-called "manager" was arrested for disorderly conduct and vandalism. Claiming that he broke a steel door that has had broken hinges for years and I was the one who opened the door...

We ended up paying a bondsman, missing work for court 3 times, paying a lawyer, and still having to pay court costs and for the door. They supposedly had all of this on video. Which was never produced in court. Not to mention the treatement my fiance received from our fine Cleveland City Police Department. I'm really not sure which is the worse creep, Wal-Mart, Police Department, or the Lawyer.

Rebuttal for Candy at Wal-Mart in Cleveland, TN

AUTHOR: Sbcd - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 21, 2008

I work at this particular Wal-Mart, and I have not had problems with them. The manager pointed out that if she kept using language, she wouldn't be helped. I would be the same way. I would have said when you can act like an adult, and cool off, then come back. It's no surprise that she was treated rudely with her acting like that. Candy got what she deserved!

Rebuttal for Michelle.

"Something is missing, you stated in your repose (and I quote): If it would have been me she sent the police after, it would have at least made a little sense. If you were not doing anything that would require the police to be called why would it make even a little sense?!? I have a feeling you were doing a little more than just using inappropriate language, if you admit you could make sense of the police being called on you."

Just some quick words on this, for Michelle. What she's trying to say, and I think you know this too, but wanted to start an argument, is that while the whole matter is moot, is NONSENSE, it would have indeed made some sense if Wal Mart would have pursued legal course with her, instead of her innocent fiancee.

Dear Candy:

Do not listen to those idiots, they have nothing better to do with their lives! I have a complaint and a lawsuit against wal mart pending and I also have a lawsuit against the temp agency I was working for when i was working at wal mart.

I was sexually harassed and assaulted and both were caught on tape! I complained to the temp agency on a monday, and by tuesday i was fired! And according to their brochure that is not their proper procedure, and it is not wal mart's.

I told the wal mart manager (carol moralez) what had happened, and according to wal mart, they cannot do anything because i was not a wal mart associate. But the fact still remains that it happened in a "wal mart"! And get this, when we started at the wal mart, they have us put on the blue vest, with the wal mart name tag, and tell us we have to treat the customer like we were a full time associate.

I am in the process of writing the ceo (h. lee scott jr.) a long letter, telling him everything that took place. I did document everything that happened who I talked to, and the date and time. Unfortunately nowadays you have to resort to this behavior.

Anyway good luck Candy, and like I said: these idiots that respond, do not even respond to them, because if you ignore them, it pisses them off. You can also write to the editor of rip off report. Just go to the very bottom of the page, and click on where it says email us.

I will say however that Wal-mart is notorious for horrid service and I try to go there as little as possible, so while you may have been provoked, it does not excuse inappropriate behavior, do you feel the need to sink to those Wal-Mart employees level?!?

Let me make this story a little clearer

AUTHOR: Candy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 19, 2006

In trying to make a long story short, I think I may have left out details that make this story make sense.

My entire story started out with a slight agitation at the turn of events. I mean seriously who is overjoyed when they have a flat tire!! I had a polite lady helping me first and all was well. She told me they had a 3 hour wait. And unless the warranty I purchased was worth it I just was not going to wait that long. She told me that they could tell me inside. So without any problem thus far I proceeded inside to find out. Then some of the guys inside the shop area were being rude to me about moving my car. I was completely confused because anytime I had ever had service done on my car there, that is where I was told to park and gave them the keys. I am not all about taking attitude from people like that. As a person I expect to be respected and if you are going to disrespect me, then you should expect it back.

I want to stress the fact that none of this really has anything to do with a tire besides the fact that it is the only reason I went there to begin with. That store needs to hire managers who know how to deal with unhappy customers instead of getting a big head and pushing off power. I was the person who was upset and arguing with this woman regardless. Why she decided to lie and say my fiance was doing it is beyond me. She was looking at my face not his. If it would have been me she sent the police after, it would have at least made a little sense. I should probably also comment that I was not yelling or screaming or throwing things. I wasn't even arguing with her. I was expressing that I needed to know what my warranty covered and how much it would be worth. Nothing disorderly except maybe a few words in my language but I hardly see how that qualifies alone. She didn't like my language and asked me to not use it and I tried my best to refrain myself. My final words to the lady was, "Thank You." Admitting it may not have been my most heartfelt and sincere.

Our lawyer never saw a video to my knowledge. He made a comment to me that sometimes his clients are not innocent like us so he occasionally has to "suck up" to Wal-Mart. (He used different terminology that I will not list here.) So after all is said and done, my opinion is...that is exactly what he did on the court date. Besides our initial consultation with him, we didn't speak to him until we went to court. On that date he went and discussed a settlement with their reps alone and sprung what they had come up with on my fiance without hardly any consultation with him. And just for the record we were in court 3 times courtesy of Wal-Mart. #1 Arraignment, #2 Wal-Mart did not show up, and #3 Finally they showed up.

And one final comment....whether you agree or disagree with my point of view on this story or anyone else's, criticism is expected but grow up and don't refer to people that you do not know as dumb, etc. This is a very silly situation all around. But the point is that no paying consumer should have to deal with this just because a manager doesn't believe a customer has the right to be unhappy with their product or service. And no consumer should be treated with disrespect by the employees without reason.

Something is wrong with the story.

AUTHOR: Marc - (U.S.A.)

I've had a few cases where video was available, and the court never played the video. The reason is that the defendant was guilty, and no defense lawyer will let a jury see a tape that will result in a conviction, so the defendant pleads out to a lesser charge at the last minute. Otherwise, if the tape would prove the man innocent, the defense would be negligent in not insisting the court see the tape. The defense ALWAYS get to view the tape, so the tape must have been irrefutable proof that was enough for a guilty verdict.

As far as going to court three times, who's fault was that? Now your fiance has a permanent arrest record, with a conviction, unless he pleaded guilty with a chance to clear his record later on, right? The arrest can never be removed. All over a tire. I don't know who the worst creep is, but I know who the dummy is.
