I would first like to say that since the death of Sam Walton Wal-Mart stores return policies have went to hell in a hand basket.
My girlfriend purchased for me as a early birthday present a Canon scanner from our local Wal-Mart store located at 101 Highway 60 West Mountain View, MO.
The scanner worked just fine for a couple of days than it just quit. My girl friend had lost her reciept and tried to return it to Wal-Mart the rude attendant at the service desk refused to take the scanner back claiming that my girlfriend had not purchased it at thier store because they don't carry Cannon products.
Iv'e since got another scanner not from Wal-Mart and My girlfriend and I refuse to go into Wal-Mart for anything further

I have also shopped many times at the Wal-Mart store in Mountain View because I used to reside there. I think it's a bad deal if what you say happened. However, I must say that I was usually treated with great courtesy and respect any time I had to return something there.
I don't think you should let one bad experience color your judgement against every Wal-Mart or every employee there.
Instead of getting upset you should have very calmly asked to speak with the Store Manager in order to resolve the issue. If you keep your cool most issues will be resolved to your satisfaction.
Good Luck in the future.
