Sounds to me like you were injured because you were not working safely.   They had to fire you or somoene could work unsafely, get hurt sue and get lots of money from them and never work again.  They had to make an example out of you.

Kleep, I know that Wal Mart has angered you, and rightfully so, however always put a two weeks notice in becuase in their system you are now labled as fired due to job abandonment. I am a former manager or several big box retailers and this can actually hurt you in the future because if you apply to another job, and don't check that you were termininated from employment at Wal Mart the back ground employment check may turn up that you have W2's from Wal Mart and you didn't mention you worked there. So although you do not need their references you may have hurt yourself.

Consult an attorney, under the law they cannot tell you if you go home after an accident you may be written up. It is a fear tactic used to intimidate the worker. Each store has a budget for accidents and workmans compensation. Any time their doctor is used, an accident form is written up or time is missed due to an accident at work it costs them money. They also have to answer to their superiors as to why there was an accident in there store. You were forced from your job and probablly targeted because you were injured and they felt you would ruin their budget. Get a lawyer ASAP. The only legitimate reason if your post is accurrate is that you tested positive for a drug when they tested you. In that case you would have obviously been a liability and should have been terminated. If this is not the case you were screwed, get a lawyer.

Wal-Mart doesnt care much about its employees or their well-being. I worked at a Wal-Mart for three months as a cashier in the Summer/early Fall 2007. First off, I was a good employee. Always to work on time and a quick learner. After the general meetings I started to find out the little things that they forgot to tell me.

I kept a bottle of water near my stations because....well people drink water. Come to find out, we were not allowed to have water unless you have a doctors notice. Ok, I was taken aback by this because water is a necessity for human life and to require a doctors notice to have it readily available where you work is ridiculous.

Next, one day I came into work and started feeling sick. I went to the bathroom because I soon wasn't able to keep any food down. So I talked to the person in charge of my area who then referred me to a manager. I told them what happened and the manager asked me if I could still work the rest of the day. Now seriously. Ok then it wasn't over and I had to call in the next day and the same manager told me I needed to bring a doctors notice. I told her to forget about that because I knew that this was something that would probably pass after another good nights sleep and if it didn't then maybe I would see the doctor.

I don't know if this was a personal thing but I couldnt figure out why it would be since I never really had contact with this manager other than when I got sick.

Anyway, I got a way better job and just stopped going to work about a month later. At this point I didn't even care but I found it weird that they never attempted to call me when I just didn't go in. It wasn't like I didnt ever go to work anyway. I was always there except for the two days I was sick. I know I should have probably put in my 2 weeks but I don't need their references. The way that they responded to my illness situation just turned me off of that place.
