Walgreens Walgreens Pharmacy filling less than prescribed amount; can't explain why Brighton Colorado

Since February, 2013, Walgreens Pharmacy has been filling less than my doctor's prescribed amount of medications.

I was annoyed, as I live in a rural location, and had to drive into town every week to "refill" my prescriptions, but when I asked the pharmacy techs about it, they had no answer as to why this was happening.

An example was that I was being given #6 tablets per pick-up of a 30-day prescription from my doctor.

I finally had my doctor write a 90-day prescription for my meds to my mail-order pharmacy, so that I wouldn't have to continue the weekly drives (and high co-pays each time).

In November of this year, I needed to get a refill of (2) prescriptions due to waiting too long to send the mail-order prescription in. Again, I was faced with Walgreens filling only (1) week supply of my 30-day doctor's prescription.

Again, the pharmacy technician looked at the computer, and was unable to give me a reason why my prescriptions were being filled this way. She said that my only option was to continue to come every week, even though the prescription that she could see in her system from my doctor was for 30 days, plus refills.

I was concerned, so I called my doctor. She immediately raised the "red-flags," citing that Walgreens had recently been fined for some type of offense.

I am convinced that there is some type of dishonest practice going on with my prescriptions. My insurance carrier, Medco, (whom I also called to ask why Walgreens was filling my prescriptions this way) said that Walgreens should be filling for the full prescription, as written by the doctor, unless they were out of stock (and I never received notification each week that Walgreens was out of stock). Medco was perplexed as to why they would fill a different amount of tablets on each of my visits.

Please look into this matter, as I am willing to file a case against Walgreens if they are stealing medication, charging me a co-pay for less than a full prescription, etc.
