The Wal-Mart MoneyCard is of absolute disgrace! I signed up for WMMC because I wanted to link it to a VISA extras account I had.... what a mistake! I'd rather stick to a conventional checking account and pay $7-10 a month to have the ability and trust that a group of individuals at an organization held of highest regard - a FINANCIAL institution to be able to accurately manage someone's money. This company is absurd!

 I had a car payment not go through, but the merchant was able to process their "payment acceptance fee" (of $10) 4 separate times. There was plenty of money there for that and many more car payments. WMMC's asinine excuse was, "We don't allow recurring payments on temporary cards." WMMC allowed the car loan company to withdrawal the processing fee 4 separate times, but not the car payment (mind you, the car loan company AND WMMC are both on a conference call racking up the charges on the money for the wrong purpose) This took 10 days to be lifted off of my account. ANY OTHER FDIC certified banking institution would have had that bank as a provisional credit within 72 hours. I believe that’s a regulation E banking law....

The newest problem, AGAIN with the car payments on a permanent card with established banking history, with the reversal of the car payment. The car loan company deferred me a month, sent me an approval email, sent me a second email advising the money was not going to be taken out of my account, WMMC sending me a DAILY ALERT saying I had $xxx.xx in my account RIGHT NOW, and then an hour later the car payment comes out. WMMC was aware of the car payment not coming out, as was the loan company. NOW WMMC is going to hold a $318 car payment that the car loan company does not have, rejected back to WMMC, had a conference call for 2 hours with the most incompetent supervisor that I've ever dealt with, and no resolution, and WMMC is going to hold that money for 10 MORE DAYS!

The car loan company felt so bad for me and my situation that they are OVERNIGHTING me a refund check, even though it’s not their fault, because of how bad this excuse of a financial institution is. 

I called WMMC corporate already and voiced my opinion; my response was unpleasant enough to prompt writing this article. I hope that more people stumble upon this post and can link my extreme below-average experience with this pathetically run organization - backed by one of America's largest retailers to this website.
