I was sent an email stating that this item would not be available for 3 to 6 days after first receiving a confirmation for orignal order number that the item would be available for pickup 1/1/14.  I cancelled the new order # and I now have to wait 24-48 hours to see if the cancellation was processed and 3-5 business days to have my money refunded. (Only if the cancellation is processed which your customer service department could not state definitively)

This is completely unacceptable and I feel fraudulent on the part of Walmart  to show an item as being available for pickup the same day and then cancelling the order and re-issuing a new order number, while still showing the item as being available for same day pickup  Item: SanDisk 16GB SD Class 10 Ultra Card (Available for pickup today in Tempe, AZ 1/1/14)

I am now:

1. Without the item

2. Extremely frustrated by having to make (5) calls needed to customer service center and (2) to local Tempe store to try to get this resolved

3. Without the use of my money for up to 7 business days after you fraudulent stated on your website that item was available for pickup on 1/1/14 (and still showing that as of 1/1/14)

This may be a shock for you but...

 You posted on a PUBLIC web site as such the PUBLIC is allowed to post just like you were allowed to write your "RipOff".  Oh and this may be a shock for you but not everyone may agree with you.  If you don't like that you have 2 choices...to not post or to get your own web site where you can make up your own rules.

Now onto your "RipOff".  You need to look up the terms of Bait and Switch because this is about as far from that as you can get. Bait and Switch is advertising an item at an extremly low price but have no intention of selling the item.  Then when you attempt to buy it they try to "switch" you into a higher priced item.  In order to do this they will often disparage or put down the discounted item. 

They are not refusing to sell you the item..you bought it.  The ONLY issue is that it turns out it was out of stock and you have to wait a few extra days.  Yes, inconvienient but NOT Bait and Switch and NOT a RipOff.

Perhaps according to their computer they SHOULD have them in stock, but when the person went to pull the item from the shelve it wasn't there.  Who knows, pehaps they were supposed to receive it but it never came in.  Perhaps the only ones they had were damaged.  Perhaps there were one of a dozen other reasons that the web would show it in stock that they wouldn't know until someone ordered it.  

As for the Website being updated you have no idea how often their site is updated.  Now, I don't either pehaps it is only updated daily, or every few days.  You are also talking about a holiday where this update may not happen.   

The funny thing about this is that if you weren't such a "hot head", had they actually gotten it in 3 days(the low estimate).  You would have had the item faster than you are going to get your money refunded.  Just something to think about.

No I do not now or ever have worked for Walmart.

THIS IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS  since you are not yourself as a Walmart employee.

Advertising and continuining to advertise an item as being available to lure someone to purchase it and then saying you are out of stock and being given the opportunity to purchase something else is CLASSIC"Bait and Switch" regardless of whether done online or brick and mortar.

 Stay out of my business, non-Walmart employee and if you are mis-representing or representing yourself as an Walmart employee then you have even more serious problems.

Whine a bit harder why dont ya!!

 YOU chose to order the item ONLINE. YOU cannot now turn around and whine because there is a process. Had you just gotten off your a*s and WENT to the store and made your purchase, this would not have been an issue. But NOOOOOOOOO. Your too hip and busy to do SIMPLE things like go INTO a store. No much easier to bi+ch and complain about them not having the item in stock then take ANY responsability for your own actions.

And not to put too fine a point on it but you are using the term "Bait and Switch" incorrectly. Bait and switch is where someone offers a item at a lower cost to get you to come into the store and then SWITCHING the bait. As in someone advertising a laptop for $200.00 but once you get in the store you find out that they NEVER had the item in the first place. THAT is bait and switch. Your problem with walmart is that its literally 1 week since Christmas day. Are you REALLY expecting them to be restocked THAT quickly?? If so, you have some VERY high expectations. Expectations that NO company would ever be able to meet.

Stop whining about the process. Had you gone into a store instead of sitting on your rump and ordering, you would not have had this issue. But the avenue that YOU chose to make your purchase from is ON YOU. There is a process for EVERYTHING. Especially when you are dealing with OTHER peoples money. This process is in place in order to ensure that YOU are getting back the correct amount owed to you. Whining about it only goes to show how petty and selfish you are. YOU think YOU do not have to follow the rules of the world. Guess what...YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL!!! You are just ONE person who has to wait right along EVERYONE else for a refund.

Get over it, its not a ripoff neither is it a scam. Its a bit of misinformation that will be taken care of by their IT dept, WHEN THEY COME BACK!!! You do realize that people are NOT the internet neither are they ROBOTS at YOUR beck and call. They are human beings and you need to stop being so HYPERCRITICAL over a small mistake. And before you waste the time to post back, I want you to take a few mins and think about mistakes you have made. If you can sit there and tell the entire web going public that YOU HAVE NEVER EVER MADE A MISTAKE, then by all means go ahead and rebut. Because it would surprise me GREATLY to find out how PERFECT you are.

And really EXREMELY FRUSTRATED over having to make phone calls?? REALLY!?!?! Did it break your fingers to have to dial?? Are you perhaps mentally handicapped and cant figure out how to use a phone?? Did you have to climb a telephone pole in order to make these calls??

See what I mean by selfish and petty. Perhaps YOU should address these issues first.
