Be warned!
I have been receiving lately various automated messages on my cell phone and home phone (not sure how they got my numbers) until one night I decided to answer the phone and spoke with a guy who claimed he is from warranty america and that my car needed an extended warranty and "should we hang up then my file would be closed and i would not be able to get an extended warranty on my vehicle."

Sadly, I fell in the trap and agreed to pay $2400 with amex for an additional 4 years of extended warranty. I investigated the next morning and decided to cancel right away. I called and was able to speak to someone who said that my account would be canceled and I should expect a refund in sixty days!!! Not happy I called amex and asked them to start a dispute to avoid to pay interest.

In the meantime I called them again several times but I cant get to speak to someone! They are all busy and I only get a customer service voicemail system. My calls have never been returned. I was also told that warranty america has allowed this company also known as warranty america in Florida to recruit customers and sell them auto warranty. Frustrated!

Warranty America does not contact consumers

AUTHOR: Warranty America - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, October 16, 2008

My name is Rebecca Swartz, Consultant for Warranty America, LLC. I have read your concerns and would like to offer you the following accurate information about Warranty America. Warranty America does not sell its contracts directly; it does not contact consumers directly via voice broadcasting or any other form of telephone solicitation, nor does it condone high pressure sales tactics. However, Warranty America does have many legitimate marketing companies and dealerships who offer its contracts. Warranty America vendors sign strict agreements clearly outlining its policy regarding voice broadcasting and telephone solicitation. To learn more or if you have any additional information that you feel could help our effort to stop illegal voice broadcasting and multiple phone call solicitation, please visit our website at www.warrantyamerica.net or contact Jason Currier, Vice President, at (800) 531-1925 ext. 203 or jasoncurrier@warrantyamerica.net. Additionally, if you have purchased a vehicle service contract form a marketer selling our contracts illegally, please contact Automotive Warranty Service Contract Association at www.warrantybestpractices.com. They will reimburse you and launch an investigation. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Sales calls

AUTHOR: Mark - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 04, 2008

To help clear one thing up with regard to warranty sales calls. There are only 1 or 2 actual warranty companies calling to sell their own warranties, Warranty America is not one of them. If you go to their website you will see a message posted about this. When I worked for a warranty company selling their own product I got 3-4 calls per day from upset consumers saying we called them 5 times a day to sell a warranty. There is a company using an automatic dialer to call people up to 10 times a day to get their money. They rotate what warranty company they say they are with, they pressure you to buy now or lose the deal, and you will "lose" the opportunity if you hang up. Any company doing this is lying to you! Having sold these, here is a list of things to do if you want a warranty:

1. ALWAYS get the contract before spending a dime
2. If you didn't ask for a quote on their website, don't talk to them. Many comapnies buy information from DMV, insurance co's, and other sources to get your cars info and your phone number.
3. Research the company before doing business with them
4. If they called you NEVER buy on the first call, unless you have done all the above before they called you.

Good luck

Extended Warranties are a total waste.

AUTHOR: Friendly Help - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 04, 2008

If these extended warranties were any good, AND if most cars really needed an extended warranty, no company could AFFORD to sell extended warranties.

If a vehicle is really so poorly designed that it really NEEDS an extended warranty, dump that vehicle. Manufacturers' warranties are intended to protect the new vehicle buyer from factory mistakes, i.e. ''infant mortality'' problems.
