After working hard to build credit & got interest lowered by Providian, Washington Mutual jacked up the interest rate to 16%-WITH NO WRITTEN NOTICE, and refuses to lower. Refuses to honor Prividian's agreements.

I want to participate in a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT agaianst them.

I will be balance transferring my balance to other cards and then closing this account ASAP!

They are required to honor the Providian agreement---- but the agreement allows the credit card issuer to change any terms of the agreement with 30 days notice.

You say there was no notice, but are you sure? They generally just send a little notice in your monthly statement. I received one yesterday, and they boosted my rate too. I have a zero balance, so it will not affect me.

Also, you have until your next statement date to object to an amendment. During that time, you can close your account, and keep the original terms.

Credit card issuers do not play nice anymore---its all about numbers----
