Wells Fargo Why can't banks use common sense... Phoenix Arizona
*Consumer Suggestion: You overdrew twice
* : Nancy..you are blaming the federal reserve for this????
*Consumer Comment: Not Bank's Issue
* : Do I See A Pattern?
* : OD fees
Wells Fargo bank charged me two separate overdraft fees for two separate $1.00 fees from RedBox movie rentals. The rental was for two days but Redbox draws the funds each day for continuos rentals... Obviously Redbox needs to change their ways, but when I asked Wells Fargo to at remove one of the OD fees, after explaining the situation, they refused. I'm a fairly new customer to this bank, but I beleive I will be closing the account and moving back to my old bank. $70 for a $2.00- its ridiculous...

Nancy..you are blaming the federal reserve for this????

"Thus, 2 charges. ALL banks are the same, and they have many rules they have to follow by the Federal Reserve, or they will be fined. Try using a check register and keep track of things. Common sense is NOT so common, judging by all the complaints on here."
So..you are saying the bank would be fined if they did not charge him 35 dollars a pop for 2- $2.00 overdrafts? I call hogwash. Yes I agree the customer in this case did over draft so he is given those fees. That appears to be a given. But are you telling us the the feds are legally forcing the bank to charge this much???And I also disagree STRONGLY when you say "all banks are the same" more HOGWASH. Many banks are the same..but not all. There are some that want to keep thier customers and have lower OD fees and more forgiveness if OD's occur taken on a case by case basis..the feds do not FORCE them to charge fees Why didn't the bank decline use of the card to begin with if funds were not there?..that could have avoided this whole mess.

Do I See A Pattern?

"Redbox needs to change their ways". Wells Fargo needs to change their ways. MAYBE someone ELSE needs to change THEIR ways. Pretty sad when a ONE dollar charge will overdraw your account TWICE. AND, she's charging one dollar DVD's when she doesn't have the money in her account that end up costing her $70 in overdrafts. I hope you enjoyed those 36 dollar DVD's.

OD fees

Every bank will charge Overdraft fees for each purchase you made. If you dont have the money to cover 2 $1 fees then dont make the purchase.
The fact that you're a new customer is exactly the same reason they didnt reverse your fees. You're a new customer and you're already mismanaging your account. This means that you're probably not going to stick around as a long term customer because you're going to blame the bank for your own mismanagement. This issue is going to follow you to any bank you go to because it's not the bank, it's you and your actions that are the reason for this.

Not Bank's Issue

This is not the bank's issue. This is your issue and your issue with redbox. The bank you're at is irrelevant - this would have happened at your old bank too....
