I attended this school for a degree in Graphic Design. This was suppose to be an 18 month program. I was given loan documents to fill out. I was under the impression that was all. 6 months later I receive a document in the mail from them saying "Sign here" nothing else.

There was no letter attached stating what the document was. Any time I attempted to meet with the Dean or someone from admissions they were always busy, or out to "lunch" at the times I had class. So I ignored it. I then received a letter stating that I owed the school a cash balance of $8,995. When I finally was able to meet with someone from admissions they told me they were sending me loan documents.

But I confronted them asking why there was no letter saying it was a loan document, they said "We thought it was self explanatory." So I signed the loan document and turned it in. Several weeks later, they say I missed the date for the turn in, though I was never informed of this turn in date, or the reason why I had to file 3 separate loans for one degree of school.

So then I received a letter saying I owed a cash balance of $9600. It appears as though they have charged me interest, and it increases in excessive amounts. They then sent the "debt" to collections, where I am about so contest the debt with the collection agency. Several of my classmates also had problems with the school.

I would like to find a lawyer or a local news station to help me with this. I feel I was taken advantage of because of my age. I feel like this school thinks they can exploit young adults and I am not going to take it anymore.
