Greetings, Probably as you read you are researching about WGU.EDU, this online University has a lot to offer, and it has a very organized advertisement, promising students fast and out of this world results. First of all if you are a working adult with children think first before you enroll, this University was meant I guess for people who are self employed or at home. The experience I had was not very promising. At the beginning I had to get numerous passwords for every segment, for example skilsoft, library, apa and so on. My girlfriend is attending another Online University very well known and she has no problems with server downs and password retrievals and many other issues. The first class I approved it took the counselor or lets say the school two weeks to Post the rubric in the site. At that time I was already getting frustrated due to my interest in getting everything done. The forums of my department the only person posting was the department mentor and the new students who introduced themselves for the first time. I thing WGU has the potential for a great school but is not meant for everyone as they say. And they are far behind other online schools in making it easy for the student to complete their assignment. When you enroll you receive a MUG a WEB cam with no instructions on how to connect to the web. My first assignment I had to Google the link because the one listed on their web page had a typo. I gave the mentor this complaint and all he said well, there are always humans behind computers and they make mistakes, you will have to work your way around. I know many people feel like me. I felt I got rip-offed. Probably will work for you but if you are a full time employee with lots of responsibilities like me and don't have time for the 20 different passwords, server downs, errors while submitting assignments WGU is not for you. Right now Im in other Online School with no issues what so ever, only one password for everything, the system is not linked to a commercial e-mail like WGU.EDU so my company firewall does not block the portal. I believe WGU.EDU has the structure and power to be better for everyone but they still are evolving. Maybe it will work for you, it didn't for me.
