On February 15th, 2013 at 2:43, I ordered a wand as a gift for my daughter. I was hoping to give it to her in April and I read on the website that they asked for 4 to 8 weeks of patience. After April 15th had passed and hearing nothing from this organization I attempted to contact them. Every email address they had listed either was returned as undeliverable or not acknowledged. I filed a dispute with my credit card company to no avail. Too much time had passed since the purchase and I was out of luck. Then on 5 July 2013, I received the following email. I noticed since they specifically mentioned Ripoff Report, then this must be the best place to put out information about this organization. Apparently this website is being hurt by the truth on this report. I attempt to respond to this email, but received a non-deliverable auto-response. I only wish I could get my money back. It has been brought to my attention that there are a few customers whose orders were misplaced during the move. Your orders are in the process of being retrieved and crafted. All orders are being accounted for via tracking numbers. This will take some time so please be patient. You will be contact shortly. For new customers, please know that the wait time for custom-crafted wands is 2-3 months right now due to a huge order volume. These are unique, one of a kind wands and they take time to craft. Once your order is placed, a portion of your payment is used to order the wood you selected. Only a very limited supply is kept on hand. The wood is custom cut by our supplier to the lengths specified and then shipped. For the misconception that the credit card is debited without cause is not so. This is not a corporation that is bank financed and materials are put on credit and kept in an inventory. The wood is purchased per order. Once the wood is received, a rough concept of your design is created (unless a design is submitted) and the handle is crafted by hand on a spinning lathe, followed by the shaft. The wand then goes through the process of hand-crafting the details of the wand, such as woodburning and adding textures. Once those are completed, the pieces are then bonded together. This, too, is done by hand. The pieces are held together, and the wand is slowly turned and inspected for balance and symmetry while the bonding dries. The wand is still not complete until it is touched up with additional sanding, followed by the first coat of finish. After that dries, the wand is fine sanded and then coated a second time. Finally it is ready for shipping. The scroll, wand bag, and box is all hand made. The labels are custom printed per each wand, with the name and wand core added to each box. This is all done by one wandmaker. Each wand takes about three days to complete once the crafting has begun. Now, multiple that by two hundred orders and you will begin to understand why the custom wands take so long to receive. To the customers who have been patiently waiting for their wands, please do not give up on me. All orders WILL be honored and fulfilled. This is not a fraudulent website, nor is it scam. I have been crafting wands for over seven years. Wizard Wood Wands is a registered business entity and taxes are filed every year. All of this information can be found publicly on the Florida Department of State Division of Corporations website. In respect to emails, I receive countless numbers per day. I do have some issues with certain servers that are blocked or will not accept the replies sent. Yahoo mail is one of the larger culprits, as the system randomly stops working at any given time. I believe it is a compatibility issue with my servers. For the customers that send email upon email, even after the original one has been replied to, but insists on an update every day or so with threats and deadlines, your emails will not be acknowledged. Only courteous, respectful emails will be honored and given a response. Threats to file with the BBB and propaganda sites like ripoffreport and such will not get you your wand any faster. The wands are crafted in the order they are received. Again, if you are not able to wait for a quality, handcrafted CUSTOM product please do not place an order. There are many other website that offer wands that are turned out in large numbers on duplication machines for your convenience. I realize this sounds harsh, but I can no longer operate under the stress and pressure of ruthless demand. I am a human being that falls ill at times, experiences misfortunes, hardships, and family crisis like everyone else. Being accused of maliciousness only disheartens me and slows production. Please take all of this into consideration, and if you decide that a custom, hand-crafted wand is for you then you are welcome to proceed and I will craft you a beautiful wand that is the only one of its kind in the world, for no two of my wands are ever made alike.
