After having serious issues with balancing my checkbook over the past several months, I finally requested a detailed transaction history from my bank. I was able to trace the problem to a company called WLI Reservation Rewards that apparently sells coupons.

Over the course of the past few months, they have been charging my account with $9 debits several times each month. I have no idea how they got my info, but no one in their right mind would reorder so many copies of the same coupon book, so clearly this is some sort of scam.

I tried to contact the company, but the phone number provided on their website just hangs up on you if you try to connect to customer service. Fortunately, my bank is good about fraud protection and is pursuing getting my money back. I'm not sure if I have any legal recourse, but will definitely be speaking to my lawyer about it.

WLI Reservation Rewards refund, no thanks to Flowers.com

AUTHOR: Andrew - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, November 19, 2006

Finally managed to get in touch with customer service at WLI Reservation Rewards (just had to keep trying the same phone number over and over until it worked). They tried to convince me that I or 'a member of my household' had actually signed up for their services through the website Flowers.com after placing an order. In fairness, I DID place an order from flowers.com but I NEVER agreed to spending $9 a month for useless discounts and coupons.

I explained to them that I live alone, have no money to spend in the first place since I'm a student and that I would never, under any circumstances, willingly sign up or pay for their services. At first they just offered to cancel my account but when I mentioned that I had seen reports on ripoffreport.com confirming their history of shady dealings, they were quick to offer me a full refund.
I also spoke to my bank and reissued my debit card so that there is no chance for them to 'accidentally' sign me up again.

While I appreciate them returning my money, there is no excuse for their behavior - that goes for Flowers.com too. I can't believe that they would so casually hand over my personal information to such a shady company without giving clear warning.

Thanks for the help, ripoffreports!
