Yellow Pages Online Services Scam for New Business Owners - Beware!!! Irving Texas

After opening a new retail business, I received numerous letters from Yellow Pages Online Services requesting that I verify my business address, phone number, e-mail, and website address. I ignored the first 10 letters until I received the last several which said something to the effect of urgent or immediate response required. This company is not the real Yellow Pages. Clearly, this company is trying to portray that it is the real Yellow Pages with a deceptively similar logo next to its company name, Yellow Pages Online Services.

To get them to quit sending me the information required notices, I returned the form with my company e-mail address and website URL. The whole thing appeared to be a request for information which would go in the Yellow Pages portion of the phone book. At no time did I ever believe that I was agreeing to a service where this company would create an ad for me on a site I didn't even know existed. Furthermore, I have my own marketing partner and have no desire for a service like this. A few weeks later, I received a bill from Yellow Pages Online services for $327.80 which included a $298 charge for some service I didn't request, $49.95 for something else not clearly itemized, and a late fee of $49.95. 

I refuse to pay for this scam! They have called and harassed me from so many different phone numbers to no end, telling me they turned me over to a collection agency and demanding payment. There is absolutely no reasoning with them. I told them to sue me and they told me they can't over such a small amount? I asked them to provide me with a copy of the document I signed. They told me they couldn't. I told them I wouldn't talk to them until they did. I finally received the document and, quite frankly, it looks like they doctored it.

I want to warn anyone who receives anything from Yellow Pages Online Services to stay away. The form they send you over and over and over until you are tired of it and respond is deceptive and deceiving, possibly even a trademark infringement if you compare it to the real Yellow Pages. And, the collection agency, Barnaby and Wolfe, 209 West 2nd Street, Suite 287, Fort Worth, TX 76102 is clearly involved in this scam. I have never dealt with such mean people who don't care about anything but scamming people at $327.80 a pop. What a racket they have going on there if people do pay this fraudaulent bill.
