Garage 928 Richard H Van Meeteren Took thousands of dollars upfront for restoration and did half the work, and did not return the balance Alpharetta Georgia

Since October 2018 and then May 2019, I have been asking, verbally and in writing, for proof of provision of services for which I paid Richard H Van Meeteren $20,000; he continually promised that he would provide proof and/or services “later”.  For this reason, I retrieved by car from his shop Saturday October 5, 2019.  I have a witness who saw the state of the car when it was recovered from him. 

The car was largely disassembled except for most of the body, engine, drive train, and wheels.  Many things he said he would do with the $20,000, he did not.  He said that the interior of the car was being re-upholstered with the money I gave him, and when I called the re-upholsterer, he said he never received anything from Van Meeteren.  I retrieved the car months later, mostly disassembled, with the interior parts pulled apart and strewn about the inside of the car. 

He said he was using the money to buy new wheels, but the wheels were never ordered.  He caused the painting of the car to be delayed for months, after taking my money, by telling the painter to take his time while telling me the delay stemmed from the painter.  After, he said the brake calipers were sent out for painting, but they sat unfinished in a box. 

For the following items, I have written proof of his promises, copies of $20,000 of my checks cashed, and/or witnesses that can legally substantiate my claims.  I have asked for the approximately $12,000 for which there is no accounting whatsoever.  He has used my money for other projects or personal use, has blocked my calls and refuses to communicate.
