We signed up for U-Verse on 1/29. We did not have it installed until 2/3. The first issue was that we were told by 2 different salesmen that they would match our current service and beat the price. When signing up, the salesman was telling us one thing as he filled out the paper and stated the same thing to the account set up over the phone and writing down another thing. When we realized that we called him back repeatedly as well as customer service and no one would call us back or address the problem. Second thing, we were told that there was a 30 day trial and if we did not like the service that AT&T would put everything back as it was. This was a flat out LIE. Third thing, when we had our service set up on 2/3 the person that was supposed to install the box on the exterior of the house never showed. This made the person installing the interior equipment have to call a second person out making our install last until 9PM. After all the phone calls and empty promises of having a manager call us back and being charged for things we were told were included we finally decided we were not valued as a customer. During the last week in Feb. we called to find out when we had to cancel by so that we would not be charged for the month- we were told March 4th. That made sense since we did not receive service until 2/3. We asked when would AT&T come put everything back and were told legally they couldn't touch other providers equipment- which is completely opposite of what we were told. We canceled on 3/2. Promptly after we canceled we received a bill for $147.76. We called and told that we were correct we did not have service for a full 30 days and they were sorry and it would be taken care of. Now another month has gone by and we received a letter stating we still owe that amount. We will not pay it due to the fact service was to be free if we canceled within 30 days of service which we did. Now when we call we are told our account was set up 1/29 so we needed to cancel by 2/28 despite the fact we did not get service until 2/3. We have been told yet again that a manager will call us back and that has yet to happen. We wont hold our breath.
