Recently I bought an used car from this dealer. The worst experience I ever had buying a car. They try to fool you by changing the price and fees on the final papers. You agree on the price and sit down to do the paperwork. They give you almost twenty to thirty papers to sign most of which are not filled out.

I asked them what about these blank forms. Their answer was "that these need some time to be completed. Important is that we agree on price, fees and finance rate" So you sign a paper on car price, fees and interest rate and let them fill out the rest of documents. I came back a few hours after the car was ready for pick up.

They gave me the key and told me that copies of all documents are in an envelope in the the glove compartment. If I had any questions I can call them at any time.

Once I reached home I checked the documents and noticed that there was no copy of our agreement on car price, fees and interest rate. There was a bill of sale where the price was totally different from what we agreed ($2600 higher) no breakdown on fees etc.

I called them immediately and they told me that they can fax to me or I could stop by next day to pick up. I showed up the next day to be told that the guy that has the file was not in but they will find out and let me know. I went the next day, same story. After a fey days they told me that there is no such an agreement and I have received all papers.

I understood that I was dealing with professional thiefs. Later I found out on different reviews on internet that I wasn't their first and only victim.

I made a formal complain to County Office of Consumers Affair and nothing came out. Bureaucrats of this office didn't even asked me to sit down and explain to them what happened. Their answer was we have a signed Bill of Sale (that I had signed when it was blank)

Everything is a shame. Licensed bandits are free to steel from citizens on regular basis. This is disgusting.

Never sign anything with blanks in it...

AUTHOR: MovingForward - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, January 12, 2013

I know you know that now, but if someone tells you "it takes time" or anything similar, get up and walk out without signing anything. You know you will be scammed if the F&I guy can't take the few minutes to fill in the blanks. He is obviously setting you up for different terms that what you agreed to - otherwise the blanks would be filled in already.

As to having a copy of the docs in the glove compartment, that is also a red flag.  Don't ever sign anything without having each of the terms filled out while you are there and a copy given to you simultaneously with your signature.  As a buyer, you are the one with the money and the desire to purchase the vehicle. If they begin to play games in the financing office with blanks in the forms or fail to give you copies, then don't sign it. You are being set up and the F&I guy knows he can pull one over on you.

Now that you have been ripped off, if you have any sort of proof, take the dealership to court. I suspect you don't have anything in writing to show that you were charged a different amount. In that case, learn this lesson and never sign anything with blanks.
