We went in for the $59 down sale and found a 2003 Chevy Cavalier LS for $11,000.00 We talked them down to $9000.00 but still ended up paying $10,000.00 6 months ago we took the car to another dealer to see what he would give us, we already have had the car for a year now. The dealer told us that they can't buy it because the back door on the drivers side had been replaced and didn't line up and was red underneath the paint. Now no dealer will buy the car, and it has been for sale now for 10 months.

We listed the car, then go to find out my air conditioning quit working last summer we take it to the shop find out that there is a hole in the condenser. That is $500.00 right there that we don't have. We took the car back to budget and they told us they can't do anything, we asked to see the report about the car and they wouldn't let us see it.

They offered to buy the car back for $8000.00, only if we get into another car but a 2004 or up. We told them they ripped us off and will be hearing from a lawyer. Well kinda immpossible to get a lawyer when your paying so much for a car that is beginning to have every door rattle as if the frame is bent.

Budget car sales must go down, I have talked to others who have had problems with them in the past. Either paying fees, crappy cars, or poor customer service.

Budget car sales

AUTHOR: Aafes - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 02, 2006

Your first mistake was buying a used car from Budget. Budget generally sells automaobiles that were previously on the rental market.

Few people treat rental cars with kid gloves. Most buy or have in place insurance that will cover any damages that occur while renting. Those that buy the insurance from the rental company could care less if they total the car, they have little to no liability. Rental car companies are expert at detailing cars to make them look and feel as new as possible.

As for the condensor, this could just as easily been damaged after your purchase. It is relatively simple for road debris to be thrown up into an engine compartment with suffieient force to cause damage. I once had a fuel line severed by a piece of cardboard I could not avoid hitting at a moderate speed. Imagine what a piece of metal could do if it hit your condensor.

Any time you buy a used car, from a dealer or private party, buyer beware applies.

I understand what you are saying, but you don't know the circumstance under which are behind this car and the dealship. We feel like we are getting or have gotten ripped off simply because of how much we pay a month for this car and it's caused a problem. The many people I spoke too in the area who have bought cars from Budget have made comments about how much they are paying a month, for a car that has problems. We are trying to sell our car privatly, we have it priced right. We will be getting the air condenser fixed, we never noticed the door until they pointed it out. So before you go and give advice that sounds un supportive, remember that there are dealers out there that will tell you true and one's that just want your money. And well we don't have the money to put into a car that the dealership said was certified?!?!?

Your car frame isn't bent, you don't even have a frame.

Budget owes you nothing, it's a used car, so don't waste your time with them. You pay your money and you take your chances. The air-con problem is a separate problem, and isn't out of line IF it's for a complete fix with no extra hidden charges. The car was hit, it was fixed, and aside from a mis-aligned door it doesn't sound like a bad car. Don't even mess selling to a dealer, they aren't going to give you a dime for the car, they'll just flim-flam you to death. They can buy Cavaliers by the dozen for pennies on the dollar if they want them, they are just after your bank account.
