Early this year I was the office manager for a small plating business here in North Hollywood, CA. We had a credit card system and a salesman came in to sell us a better system with a "PIN" key pad so we could process debit cards, instead of accepting personal checks. I agreed to change the system and he assured me that they would buy back the other system.

Some time after that the owner became seriously ill and just recently passed away. Because of this we closed the business and now I am getting calls trying to collect from me for the machines. Today I got a copy of the contract and found that the bottom of the contract, where the salesman told me to sign for having received the equipment was in fact a section by which I was personally responsible for paying for the contract if the company failed.

I have offered to return all of the equipment and was in fact told by one of their rude people that i would be called several times a day until the machines are returned. I called back, asked to speak with a supervisor and was told I could not!
