In December 2004 a representative was going door to door where my business was located promoting a credit card machine. I signed a non-cancellable lease for the terminal for 12 monthes/1 year. On my contract the representative wrote the number one in the term field. The terminal was delivered a few days later and everything was going fine. In January or Febuary of 2005 I contacted Lease Finance Group to change the name of my business. At that time the young lady I was speaking with decided to go over my account. she proceeded to tell me my account was for 4 years/48 months. I then told her that was incorrect and I signed a one year lease.

She asked me to fax her my copy and she faxed me her copy. The copy she faxed me showed they put an "L" sign in front of the number "1" to make it look like a number "4", then they put the number "8" behind it. I told her that her contract was altered by them. She said it was not and that her copy was a law and binding contract and mine was not.

I proceeded to inform her that I would not pay past my one year contract. I also contacted a pre-payed laywer and he also informed me not to pay. He sent them a letter requesting that they void my contract. Of cousre they claim they did not get the letter.

I have contacted them over the last several years and faxed the letter to their so called legal department several times and they still said they did not receive it. (By the way, this is now on my credit report for $3500 and is stopping me from obtaining certain credit). This past August I sent them a certified letter with a copy of my contract and the copy of the letter from the attorney threatening to sue them if I did not hear back from them in the next 15 days. I also CC'ed the Attorney General of Chicago and Tennesse. Now I finally got a response.

They sent me a form letter to fill out and requested all documents proving my case. I had previously sent those documents when I mailed the certified letter. I did fill out the form and sent the requested documents. I have not heard anything from them since then. Once again they are messing me around.

At this point I would like to sue the company for monetary reimbursement. I will except nothing less. If there is a lawyer willing to take my case please contact me.
